Same-sex couples are seeing the benefits of the Supreme Court's gay marriage ruling even faster than anticipated (much to the chagrin of conservatives). On Friday, as same-sex marriages resumed in California, Julian Marsh, an American, and his husband Traian Popov, a Bulgarian immigrant, got the news that they are the first gay couple to have their marriage-based green card petition approved. The New York Times reports that the visa agency had said it would hold off on approving applications until this week, but apparently immigration officers got excited and decided to jump the gun.

And thank you to all the purists who stayed home rather than vote for a mormon.

I think they did it wrong. This “couple” was living in Florida where same sex marriages are not recognized. Didn’t the decision leave SSM up to the states? I think a clarifying challenge should be issued.

The CDC website reports that almost a third (63% IIRC) of all syphilis cases reported in this country are found in “men who have sex with men”.Given that male perverts represent about 0.5% of the nation's population I propose that all male perverts be quarantined in the interest of public health.

These and muslims are who obama is wanting to flood the Country with. This is what the immigration reform is all about. The Mexicans and Central Americans are only scapegoats. And if obama wants it, it follows that his girfriends, Juanita, Linda, and marco want it to. What gets me kicking my own ass is that I voted for Rubio.

I voted for Romney, but I don't think that he would have been different. Basically, Romney is the father of homosexual "marriage" in America.

Also, this is a SCOTUS decision to Calfornia's state constitution. The federal executive branch has little to no influence on this decision.

The Governor who gave us gay marriage, whose stated goal was to homosexualize the military and was supporting homosexual Boy Scout leaders 20 years ago was going to save America?

He was a symptom of the problem, not the cure.

“I am not unaware of my opponent’s considerable record in the area of civil rights, or the commitment of Massachusetts voters to the principle of equality for all Americans. For some voters it might be enough for me to simply match my opponent’s record in this area. But I believe we can and must do better. If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern. My opponent cannot do this. I can and will.

We have discussed a number of important issues such as the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), which I have agreed to co-sponsor, and if possible broaden to include housing and credit, and the bill to create a federal panel to find ways to reduce gay and lesbian youth suicide, which I also support. One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share.

As we begin the final phase of this campaign, I need your support more than ever. By working together, we will achieve the goals we share for Massachusetts and our Nation.
Sincerely,
W. Mitt Romney
