Federal lawsuit over alleged police abuse video (Paterson NJ)

PATERSON, N.J. (WABC) -- A shocking, brutal new video shows police officers beating and kicking two men in custody.

The whole violent scene took place in Paterson as the suspects laid on the ground in handcuffs.

It has now sparked a federal lawsuit.

The security camera video is graphic.

Attorneys say it shows a swarm of Paterson police officers beating and kicking two men as they lay on the ground handcuffed during an arrest back in 2011.

"Once an arrest is made and there is absolutely no resisting. These officers should not be taking justice into their own hands thereafter," said Darren Del Sardo, attorney.

"You have an individual that is unconscious and the beating continues to go on," said Matthew DiBrino, attorney.

Bar fight with an off-duty officer. Officer follows and calls for back up from his buds. Pile on ensues. Allegations that one of the arrested men fired a gun at the officer in the bar. No attempted murder of cop charges, just a weapons charge. That's suspicious right there.

Sorry for posting from such a hysterical source. "Shocking, brutal" is not who what where when how why. The video is not "graphic."

But after posting something in favor of those police officers who shot that poor Rottweiler, I feel compelled to deplore the growing police state.

Also the officers' names are not given here but about half of them were Hispanic, as were the men they beat. Mexico-type policing, ole. Yes there are brutal white cops but in NJ a great deal of corruption involves immigrants or the old-country way of doing things even if born here.

Typical of today’s cowboy cops when they think nobody is looking

Why weren’t the cops involved criminally charged?

Cops are truly brave when they outnumber their unarmed opponents 10-1 especially if their dangerous adversaries are handcuffed.
