Sadly all fireworks, for the last few years in the whole of Anchorage, have been banned. (But we all know that it cannot be enforced.) And up until today, because we are getting a little bit of rain, ALL burning except BBQs was banned.

The fireworks stands, outside the city, are running commercials, but with a note about the ban maybe still being in place.

The city does put on a big display downtown each year. Haven’t heard about this year.

I recently moved to Georgia to be closer to my daughter and her husband. Imagine my surprise when I walked into the grocery store and saw fire works for sale...including the old fashion sparklers!!! i did not go too crazy but I have purchased some for our fourth. If it is raining I guess we will postpone like the big boys
