Romney’s - as well as everyone else’s, calls were monitored (at least for keywords) and have been for years. The difference is who did it and what is being done with any information. Under Bush and Clinton the monitoring was likely not done domestically, we relied on our friends (most likely the Brits) for that - they would provide us info if we needed it, there was at least a little restraint. Obozo has made it clear he has no respect, will not restrain himself in any way. As it was technically feasible, this administration would create some flimsy rationale to use it and in the worst way possible.

“What would happen if it turned out Romney calls were intercepted during the election?” - PD

Of course they were intercepted. The only question is who, if anyone, heard them or saw the transcript.

Who, if anyone, looked at the campaign strategies on the Romney computers? They were accessed and recorded also.

Oh, and do we trust the NSA to tell us the truth regarding who accessed these files/recordings?

Evil bastard.

Yep, Romney’s plan intercepted and Candy fatass Crowley given the talking points to take Romney down.

And NSA screwing with voting machines.

What a place we live in.

POSHITUS *entered* politics ten years ago by having a judge unseal his opponent’s divorce records and we’re supposed to trust him with data OR privacy?

Sure makes Candy Crowley’s production of the Obama press conference transcript during the debate highly suspicious—as if she were listening to Romney prepare for the debate and anticipated his answer. She framed the question but she was expecting Romney’s answer and ready to rebut it herself since Obozo was incapable of doing so. It smelled then, but with the NSA “listening” project and Obozo’s feckless disregard of the law, it is not a leap to believe somebody inside the Obama campaign got information/intelligence illicitly.

That doesn’t sound shocking. I need more juice to a story. Spying on judges no big deal, but disclosing how Obummer stole the election that would be juicy.

I bet Greenwald isn’t racing his Mercedes southbound toward LAX along Highland at 4:30am anytime soon.

You know, you don’t stay alive in TX politics for long if you’re stupid, and Perry ain’t stupid. We Texans knew - we’ve known this guy for 20 years - that something was real weird with his 53 second pause.

Was that a trap set?

So if the US Government is so concerned about the NSA revelations, why aren’t they going after Glenn Greenwald?

Just askin’.

No, the new revelation is about the technical means used to snoop...not what the snooping uncovered.

For all that Snowden claims it was possible for him and NSA analysts to do, you'd think he'd have at least made a point to collect call transcripts, e-mails, etc. of one actual person - maybe someone he doesn't like that he wants to embarass - John Bolton, Dick Cheney, etc. Yet there's none of that and despite people's fevered fantasies, I doubt you'll see any of that.

There hasn't been any evidence of any specific American targeted for anything in any of Snowden's material - the only specific people/persons are the Russian Defense minister, etc.

The STASI apparently used to do that with lower tech methods.

So, how much did we have to pay all these countries to reject him? Sounds like a lot.

Snowden should either come home or commit suicide. Greenwald should be more careful than he’s been.
