Not a whole lot of private businesses could last very long while completely losing track of 40% of their expenditures.
Of interest.
Why, shucks. Obama could have a good time in Africa with that!
Look for the local politicians that drive brand new Cadillac Escalades every year and party non-stop. Shouldn’t take that long...
Anyone have a line on some missing government records?
GA ping.
over twelve YEARS?
a little more'n sixteen and a half a year.
one point three seven a month
three quarters of a mil a week
fifty thou a day.
Where can I get a job like that ?
While their constituents are scraping along...barely. This government loves additional punishment laws like âhate crimesâ, ‘we the people’ should be demanding extra punishment for public officials who betray they people’s trust.
Misguided payment of protection money. They can keep stealing it every day, for decades. When it is taken away (and with a proper law enforcement response), they can only riot once.
Nothing to see there, move along people. The gubmint will handle this......
Are we at all surprised this happened, it is happening in MANY of the cities with a certain group of people.........
I grew up in the the next little town way back in the day.East point has gone to the dogs as has most of the southside of Atlanta. The cemeteries in that area are in disrepair.I remember when they were kept up nice. No more.
The accounting team likely moved on to the bigger opportunity in Detroit.
Makes our Illinois horse woman look like a piker
Maybe it rolled under the soda machine. Did they check there?
My grand parents moved to East Point in the late 50’s and had a little bungalow in the flight path for Hartsfield Airport. Not much of a city really then. All cities seem to be managed (if that’s the right word) strictly for the benefit of the political party in charge. You can bet that a lot of that 200 million was given out in “walking around money” to keep people quiet about the big bucks going into the chieftains pockets.
East Point, huh? Couldn’t have been a creepy ass cracker...
No, Detroit has already started. Emergency Financial Manager Kevin Orr, has a forensic accounting team and I think the Attorney General is envolved in 60 day ( it has started about 3 weeks ago I believe ) of the Pensions in Detroit. And that is just the latest. The sorted history of malfeasance they have found post Kawame is mind-boggling. The one that got me was a building full of assets for the school system approaching or over 7 digits including 250cc motorcycles for crossing guards, bought but never used...
It is dangerous to rob banks. And you really can’t steal too much from a bank. The real thieves go into government. That’s where the big money is.
Jesus man..I’m no financial expert....but I’d start looking in the Caymans and Switzerland.
