Pan_Yan ~:” Everything this woman does screams that she has no joy in her heart. What a terrible, terrible way to live.”
She purposely chose this lifestyle , and chose to marry an empty suit .
A socialist marriage arranged by Valerie and Rev. Wright.
I am sure that she takes joy in watching her daughters grow up
I don’t pity her .. she made choices , all of which have consequences .
“Settle down you Crazy-@ss Cracker; you didn’t build that!” *SMIRK* :)
I never voted for or supported Obama. If you say he’s the worst president we ever have had, you won’t get an argument from me. I have no great fondness for his wife or her family. That said, I heard the way she made the remark, and it seems clear to me she was saying that she lives in a gilded cage. Anyone who has a security bubble is confined by that bubble. She wants to have it. She and her husband did a lot to seek it. I don’t see her as complaining so much as noting, in a semi-humorous way (”It’s a prison with a great cook”) that even good things can have their downsides.
I don't have 8 years of college and I don't pretend to be "wealthy", I am wealthy in that, my Father provides absolutely every thing I need. My Father owns all the cattle on a thousand hills and He is generous.
Chemistry in college. Then went to medical school.
Sorry for being nosy. My boys are at the beginning of their college years.
I don’t believe medical school is the path to wealth anymore.
Engineering, especially chemical engineering, is a good way to go.
Thanks. That’s the direction they’re heading.
Best of luck to them!
I don’t think so either. I couldn’t do now what I did then. Also US medicine is very, very hard nowadays. If someone has a burning desire to practice medicine, that would probably make it worth it, but otherwise it probably isn’t. I retired some years ago because the stress was killing me. However, if someone has the temperament for it, it can be rewarding and provide a good life. I practiced medicine in the Army for three years. That was much less stressful—but, then, that’s the military, which has its own special drawbacks.
You know, I figure that Zero is getting away with murder, until I remember that he has to live with THAT. < shudder>
The easiest person to lie to is yourself, because no one can call you on it. Once you start, there's no end to the delusion.
I think this is at the root of most people's personal problems.
"I think this is at the root of most people's personal problems."
I think you're absolutely right. There is no limit to the human capacity for denial, the most dangerous thing there is.
Furthermore, I think that denial on a national and international scale is behind the decline of the Western nations, including the United States.
