A German newspaper has expressed regret after publishing a cartoon that appeared to depict the state of Israel as a ravenous monster.
Munich-based Süddeutsche Zeitung says the picture appeared Tuesday alongside two reviews of books about Israel. The caption suggested that the Jewish state was seen by its enemies as akin to Molocha monstrous deity from the Old Testament to whom followers sacrificed their children.

A little late, I'd say.
I'm surprised these guys even know about Moloch - given that most of Western Culture seems to celebrate sacrificing their unborn children to their Moloch god of convenience, loose morals, and self-centered living.
Julius Streicher would be proud of the grotesque dehumanization in that drawing.
I was just going to ask, didn’t some Germans have this same attitude 70 some years ago?
This is now:
Well the now reality is that Germany is requiring a Jewish symbol on all packaging manufactured in Germany by Jews. This is of course to protect the feelings of mussies who might inadvertently pick up a product not knowing it’s been contaminated by Jews. History repeats.
Ugh ...
I was inclined to suggest that nobody responsible for that 1934 outrage is still alive ... and a war has been fought ... and the Third Reich lost ... and that apologies for that seem pointless.
And then I see they’re still at it? Have they learned nothing?
Scumbags.
There is, of course, a requirement that goods manufactured by muzzzzzies have a special mark as well, isn’t there?
Not that I’m aware of. Didn’t know they made anything. Just took.
