Jurors in Zimmerman trial to consider conflicting testimony

Jurors in George Zimmerman's murder trial are heading into their weekend with a lot to digest after a dramatic day of testimony that saw the prosecution rest and the defense begin its case in the high-stakes trial.

Friday's action-packed session saw the mothers of both Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin testified Friday it was their own son's voice calling for help on a taped 911 call.

After Judge Debra Nelson ruled against a defense motion for acquittal late Friday afternoon, the prosecution announced it was resting and the defense began by calling Zimmerman's mother, Gladys.

Miami media has done such a poor job of reporting this trial...I got into a conversation this morning with a college-aged girl who is absolutely convinced that George Zimmerman's attacker was an innocent angel.

She looked stupified when I told her that George's attacker started the confrontation--it was completely NEW information to her, because the very liberal Miami media has emphasized the lie that George was out for blood lust.

I've run across a lot of them who lack the analytical thinking skills to understand evidence and testimony. They fixate on a single point and ignore all else,

Wow. Conflicting testimony in a trial? Has this ever happened before? /sarc

Isn’t this the whole idea for a jury - to listen to testimony (usually conflicting) and come to a conclusion - and arrive at the truth/decision?

Hopefully the jurors are given more information than the average dizzy-headed college chick. This is supposed to be the age of information when it’s actually more like dis-information.

Zimmerman’s Mom, “That was my baby desperately calling for help as he straddled that crazy ass cracker and pounded his head into the pavement.”

They fixate on a single point and ignore all else

...and often that single point is inaccurate...

To All: Yes, I meant to say Martin’s Mom. The Media has been trashing Zimmerman so much now they got me doing it subconsciously.

The reaction of the sleepwalking media to the presentation of the timeline showing the relationship of Trashcan’s phone calls to the his location will be amusing. They’ll sputter and gasp at the “bombshell” that’s been known for over a year.

It’s really astonishing to see how willfully ignorant they remain even about the simple things in this case (”iced tea”, “told to stay in the car”, “no eyewitnesses”, etc.). I really have to think, as I have thought has been true about other matters they’ve covered over the years, that they’re really playing dumb to make it look like it’s a complicated event, because that keeps people watching. Nobody likes to watch a blowout, and they’re making sure that nobody thinks that it is.

No bushes, but what about large potted plants on one of the patios? All of the patios have privacy screens so it would have been simple for Martin to hide once he got into the commons area before Zimmerman.

Zimmerman said Martin disappeared in the call to the dispatcher.. How did Martin disappear?

Check out the photos of the commons area. You’ll see for yourself.

You make good points, for me though it’s come down to one thing with the media. Although they are specifically protected by the First Amendment that still gives them no right to lie and obfuscate the truth with the ‘goal’ of selling more advertising.

It’s about time that they were held up to the higher standard they have supposedly extolled for most of their existence. And to pay for their transgressions and incitement of violence. And we can go back through our history to see this over and over again. The Civil War, the Spanish-American War, WW 1 & 2, Korea, Viet Nam, the race-riots of the late 60’s and 70’s.

On and on, well now they have some competition in the spreading of ‘truth’ and I can see how they’ve been ‘doubling down’. This trial is a good example of it, it’s become political with the real goal of more race riots so that they have something ‘juicy’ to report about.

What we have all learned though over the last few years, is that there are ‘unintended consequences’ to all of their agendas and plans. I’m just hoping that holding them to the truth and facts in the future is one of them.

But I’m not going to hold my breath over that hope.

It’s ok, it took me sometime to realize it too. They are VERY good at twisting things aren’t they?

They are not sleepwalking. They are willfully reporting what they want us to believe.

On any subject, confront a leftbot with a fact and they will answer:”I don’t believe that.” It is a standard reply. Had two people over the past week say that, one about the insurance companies stating to policyholders that price rises were due to Obamacare (after the Aetna letter was published), the other denying the headlines reporting a military coup in Egypt with numerous photos of signs castigating Obama and the US government. Both consider themselves informed. They listen to NPR and watch CNN.

The media lies to present and reinforce their own agenda. The public is too brainwashed to consider any source not approved by the progs. Anyone who seeks out facts, uses logic, employs critical thinking is ipso facto an idiot. Even when the approved outlets are reporting truth and committing random acts of journalism, the bots do not register anything contradicting the approved agenda.

And, when events finally play out or the collusion of the media is shown in the glaring light of reality and they are forced to admit, even in a weak and obfuscating manner, what was true all along, the amazing thing to me is that there is never a reaction from their readers/viewers/listeners. It all simply falls down the memory hole and the bots will change the subject while daring anyone to contradict them because they “believe” whatever and their belief has, to them, the force of fact.

Zimmerman can be acquitted in this trial and upheld on as many appeals as the law allows and he will still face civil charges. They will find something on which to find him guilty, no matter how small or unimportant and the media will headline “Zimmerman Charged” while the bots will sagely nod because they knew it all along.

I really wish it was all being perpetrated in the name of ratings and perhaps that is a root cause, but the function of the media today is simply to amplify the set beliefs of the zombified prog voting base and that base is complicit to the point of participating in their own thought control.

Is it any wonder that during a revolution the media is taken over by the rebels?

The important question needs to be raised in city governments around the US: “If, after the Zimmerman verdict, there are efforts to riot in this city, do you have contingency plans to deal with it?”

Basically, they need to know that if there is a riot, and they are caught unprepared in dealing with it, they are going to pay a hard political price for that failure.

The same question needs to go to chiefs of police. That they need to respond swiftly and forcibly in the event of riot.

Fair warning. If they fail, it is *their* fault, and they need to lose *their* job. So get your act together, and do not fail.
