FDR made the Great Depression far worse and far longer than it would otherwise have been. And the voters just LOVED him for it. He was celebrated as the greatest President ever, and re-elected again and again. He’d still be President, if death hadn’t taken him from us!

The media and the talking heads will tell the voters that if it hadn’t been for all those obstructionists in congress, Obama would have fixed the economy several years ago. And if they hadn’t put all those stupid changes into Obamacare, it would have already gone into action smoothly.

But they have made it very hard for him every step of the way!

After some study on the matter over these last many years I have come to the very ungenerous conclusion that the only really truly very good thing about FDR is that he died.

He was made into an icon for the Depression era people. My elders simply loved him. Especially my mother. Dad, not so much.
