“I can see a woman of steel I can think of do this, not comrade Oboingo”

Shark, I think taildragger is talking about Sarah Palin, not some unknown “woman” in general.

Take the words of context - not just a woman, but “of steel I can think of”.

Already established it’s somebody in particular he is aware of and she is made of steel.

So writing about women in general, in response to his post, misses his point.

(I think...)

I know; I just don't think it'll happen; if the GOP thinks people want a woman-president they'll push Olympia Snowe.
I also hope it doesn't happen; Obama's cult of personality was disgusting enough, and to some extent George Bush, and I simply don't want a president who will have a group supporting them even if they act blatantly contrary the constitution (no matter what, so to speak).

Take the words of context - not just a woman, but “of steel I can think of”.

I was taking them in-connext: I do not want Palin as president, not because I don't think she can don't do a good job but because I think that her supporters won't/can't hold her feet to the fire. I do not want anyone who has a cult of personality in the office of the President.

A President actually addressing the problems we face would likely be very unpopular.
I don't know if any amount of of steel would keep them able to stay the course if they went by-the-letter of the constitution, much less the spirit. Ex: if the spirit, then realize that the Army's two-year funding limit was put in place to prevent a standing army, which the Regular Army is, and therefore the Regular Army ought to be disbanded and sent to the states to finish their contracts or serve as officers. Imagine the outcry of the we need a strong defense people: they would see it as a dismantling of the defenses, not as a strengthening of the State's ability to defend. (and the shifting of the responsibility to the more-proper militias.)

So writing about women in general, in response to his post, misses his point.
(I think...)

And on purpose.
