Education Secretary Michael Gove yesterday declared war on the utterly outrageous and medieval use of the word gay as an insult. He will study current laws to ensure they are properly policed and could even sharpen them in a bid to stamp out offensive homophobic language.
Mr. Gove told a conference held by pressure group Stonewall that the Coalition was determined to protect gay pupils from being subjected to homophobic bullying at school. He said that it was unacceptable to use the word gay as abuse and named and shamed former Radio One Breakfast Show DJ Chris Moyles.
Mr. Moyles was branded Stonewalls Bully of the Year at their annual awards ceremony in 2006 after he dismissed a ringtone, saying: I dont want that one; its gay.

Especially since most of the "gay" people I've met in My life were the some of the most manifestly unhappy people i've ever known.

Famously, Sam Brown, a 21-year-old student, was taken to court in 2006 for calling a policemans horse gay after being arrested under section five of the Public Order Act. His remarks were deemed likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress by police, but the prosecution dropped the case at Oxford magistrates court.
So apparently the speech doesn't have to be directed at a human being to bother the sensibilities of leftist totalitarians. Alice through the looking glass.
If only the leftists here had a database of conversations they could sift through to retroactively charge us with being insensitive should they manage to get "hate speech laws" through our malleable Congress. Oh, wait.

‘Gay’ is an ‘Alinsky’ creation...never use ‘gay’...they are queers, sodomites, or homosexuals.

Actually “gay” is a euphemism which links to the noun “gaiety.” Eventually it’ll go over to “gey,” an unambiguous word. It’s a natural process. I use the word “faggots” in my book on the subject, “Faggots And The Guillotine.”

I refuse to use the word.
The correct description is “homosexual”.

So what word does he want to use to make homosexuals sound happy? Fudgepacker, no doubt.

I call them homos, short for homosexual. If anyone questions me on it, I tell them I call myself a hetero, short for heterosexual, what’s wrong with homo?

Lucky the author doesn’t live here-the guys I work with say “rump ranger” and “dyke”...
But I agree-use the word that has described this since ancient Greece, at least-”homosexual” maybe even “lesbian” for the females, but definitely not the word “gay”.
Aside from the fact that homosexuals seldom seem “gay” by the true definition of the word, “gay” wasn’t used as a slang word to identify same-gender lovers until the 18th-19th century...
I say “homosexual” or “lesbian” in polite company-I don’t say “gay”, and people who don’t like it would be well advised to consult a dictionary.
