With half the black legislators in the state House of Representatives still refusing to vote for the Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act, gay marriage advocates are going on the air with an endorsement from the most popular black politician in Chicago, or anywhere else President Obama.
Illinois Unites for Marriage Equality is running an ad on black radio stations featuring pro-gay marriage sound bites from both the president and First Lady Michelle Obama. Obama came out in favor of gay marriage over a year ago. The ad is intended to counter anti-gay marriage ads and robocalls from the African-American Clergy Coalition and Family PAC. Former state Sen. James Meeks, pastor of Salem Baptist Church, is featured on a robocall directed at black districts.

VO1: You know what? Its not fair that in some states, gay couples can get married and have all the rights that go along with it but not in Illinois.
VO2: Not in Illinois? Thats not fair.
VO1: Nope. And that means gay couples dont get treated equally when it comes to taxes, Social Security, or Medicare. Listen to what President Obama had to say about it:
President Barack Obama: Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law. For if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.
VO2: So our Presidents out there for marriage equality?
VO1: And Michelle, too. Heres what she said:
First Lady Michelle Obama: In a country where we teach our children that everyone is equal under the law, discriminating against same-sex couples just isnt right. So, its as simple as that.
Announcer: Join President and Mrs. Obama and folks across our community who believe in fairness. Tell your legislators to pass the Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act.

Illinois Ping.
Not a surprise. Obama took Reggie Love with him on his most recent African trip.

Though it's somewhat interesting these Black politicians won't vote for it. They generally don't care what their voters think, unless they are afraid it could hurt them.
But, IL has had civil unions for gays, for years and years.
What am I missing? Oh I know, they want to destroy the church and the very foundation of our country, nevermind!
When is bath house Barry coming out?
Well, black America, are you going under the bus to be replaced by OBAMA’S pro-sodomite friends? Heck, if you are honest, Obama has hurt you all more than any other demographic group (except possibly the youths) in America.
If you are honest.
Thanks, I saw this chart previously but always good for reference. Of course we know it’s not about marriage per say. I could have sworn the Civil Union legal aspect has been in place longer than 2 years! I will go ask the folks who shared it with me years ago.
Boy he sure does love the queers. Makes me want to puke.
Gagging placemark.
are they for equality for polygamy too?
This equality garbage makes me puke, it’s a red herring, a cop out and a pathetic drama queen slogan used by the feces loving sheep to fool the ignorant masses who sit in their front rooms at 6.00 pm and then watch their local news and think that they’re being told the truth while waiting for housewives of orange county or NJ or waiting for the next episode of the view, Good morning America or the today show
very interesting and this stuff should be up on FR for all to see all the time so others can use this info and do you have this on a national scale
