I don’t know much about Mike Rounds, so I can’t take sides in this primary yet.
This dude is wasting his time.
I must admit, I know so little about either. Someone briefly educate?
Mike Rounds is a former of South Dakota. A very decent man. I’ve never heard of the other guy and I’ve lived in SD all my life.
Former governor, that is.
Rounds as a two term former governor has name recognition and a base of voters. Rhoden is from Union Center in what is known as West River country and may not run well in eastern South Dakota where most of the population resides. That said Rep. Kristi Noem is also from West River and came from the state Legislature to win a house seat from well funded Democrat Stephanie Herseth-Sandlin. Noem was also not well known, but proved to be a tireless campaigner and won a primary against several more well known candidates.
This is the thread that I meant to ping to you. Rhoden had expected Kristi Noem to run against Mike Rounds and was planning on running for Congress, but Noem backed out of the Senate race. For some reason, Rounds has been denounced by some South Dakota conservatives.
Rounds has been denounced by DeMint’s group as well, but I just can’t see us beating him in a primary. A lot of money and he was a popular governor.
He won’t be a McLame RINO. More of a Dan Coats RINO.
We could however upset Capito in WV.
