CT was such a nice place to grow up in the '50s and '60s. With its manufacturing base, access to NYC or Boston, beautiful countryside and great small towns things were good.
It's bizarre that the state lost interest in keeping manufacturing there. That it put in place a state income tax when it didn't need to. That it relied so much on casino revenue which is now being cut off by competition from neighboring states.
I've got the big HS reunion coming up. I'm thinking it'll be kind of sad to realize how much has been lost in fifty years, but at the same time be reminded how good childhood was in the foothills of the Berkshires.
It would be great to see every last gun maker leave Connecticut and New York and Mass. There are a lot of them in all three states still, including Kimber, Colt, North American Firearms, Smith & Wesson ...
Seeing as these states hate guns the companies should move to states where citizens can buy their products.
