Marine veteran-turned-country crooner Jimmy Rose brought down the house Tuesday night on America’s Got Talent with an original song honoring his Kentucky coal miner roots.

Rose’s rendition of his song “Coal Keeps The Lights On” may have done more to humanize President Barack Obama’s war on coal workers than a boatload of advocacy ads ever could...

Oh if only that could have aired during NBC’s obnoxious annual Green Week.

That was a great C&W song ... the story is more important than the singer’s vocal viruosity.

Wow. This young man's from about 60 miles as the crow flies south of where my father grew up. There's nothing like the sound of authentic SE Kentucky mountain dialect. With that song and this YouTube to go viral he may find himself with a genuine singing career in extremely short order.

Oh, and the TEA Party has a new slogan and song for anti-Obama rallies and a million signs across the country.

Saw him last night. He kept saying “God Bless you” to the judges.

What the heck was that all about? Is he trying to kill his chances with America’s elite ???? /s

Well, his song certainly won’t be seen in my lifetime on the Weather Channel.

Just happened to catch this young man’s performance while channel hopping. He came across as humble, honest and really refreshing plus he has a wonderful range in his voice. His lyrics were certainly heartfelt as well. Good on him. I hope he does really well. Nashville ought to grab this young man quickly (as long as they don’t try to turn him into singing cookie cutter crap).

What an exceptional individual! There are hundreds of thousands of patriots currently serving as well as those who served their initial enlistment and got out.

Every once in awhile the real America still manages to sneak in an accidental appearance on TV. Have already sent the link to a friend of mine with a nationwide “let’s make this go viral” e-mail list. Far bigger than anything I’ve got.
