Joe Lieberman: Iran 'Most Dangerous Challenge to US Security'

While the tumultuous events in Egypt and Syria have focused the public's attention on civil strife in those countries, Iran remains the biggest threat to the United States in the Mideast, says former Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman.

"The most dangerous challenge to U.S. national security brewing in the region continues to be the Iranian regime's pursuit of a nuclear-weapons capability," Lieberman, who served in the Senate as both a Democrat and an independent, writes in The Wall Street Journal.

Our biggest threats aren't external - they are internal.
An Executive Branch that is an outlaw and inept organization that operates in defiance of the US Constitution. And the sitting occupant sympathizes with our enemies, and exudes a profound hatred for America.
A Legislative Branch that is crooked and cares only about acquiring power.
A Judicial Branch that is full of advocates that also don't give a damn about following the Constitution.
And a '4th Estate', the Media, that functions more like a 5th Column of the enemy.

Iran doesn’t pose a direct threat to the U.S.

Lieberman is likely playing up the alleged threat to get the U.S. to act to protect another nation that Iran poses a threat to. A nation that Lieberman likely has sentimental leanings to.
