The head of a California company that manufactures blood-spurting mannequins built to look like human zombies insisted Wednesday that his company's latest product does not trivialize efforts to strengthen gun laws.
San Diego, Calif.-based Zombie Industries recently put out its new "Bleeding Gun Control Lobbyist," a target built to resemble a jaundiced, middle-aged man dressed in a grey suit with a blue tie and painted with blood around its mouth, chest and forehead. When shot with projectiles, the figure bleeds much in the same way a human would.
On Wednesday, Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy released a letter he had sent to the company's CEO calling the gun control lobbyist zombie "incredibly offensive."
"[Gun violence victims] have suffered in a way that is difficult for anyone to internalize, and their losses are impossible to truly understand," Murphy wrote in a copy of the letter released to the media. "To trivialize these experiences and attempt to portray such knowledgeable, passionate people as villains is a shameless and despicable ploy to make a few bucks."

I wonder how the Zimmerman trial would be going right now if the prosecution could produce a picture of Zimmerman at the range shooting at one of these targets? I don’t think I would risk that.
