George Zimmerman's prosecutors want to add lesser charges for the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, including manslaughter and third-degree murder, possibly because they're worried he'll be acquitted. Originally, Zimmerman just faced second-degree murder charges for shooting and killing 17-year-old Martin. He claims self-defense, saying that Martin punched him in the face and smashed his head into the sidewalk.
In the state of Florida, third-degree murder doesn't require proving that Zimmerman acted with some sort of "ill will" or hatred. The new charge, however, does need a felony-basis. In a surprising move, the prosecution argued Zimmerman committed child abuse as the felony required for third-degree murder.
Richard Mantei, one prosecutor in the case, explained, "When one commits ... child abuse, and the child dies — the child being defined as a person under the age of 18 — that can constitute felony murder in the third degree." Judge Debra Nelson noted that child abuse must be intentional. "Shooting is an intentional act. The question is whether is was justifiable, not intentional," Mantei responded.

Perhaps they should amend charges to include illegal parking as well.....Discharging a weapon with/in the city limits: Life in prison or whenever you are killed.
The huge problem with working for a depraved client like the government is this:
Your boss can dictate to you how to handle your case.
Now, the ethical rules clearly state that as a licensed attorney YOU MUST exercise your own independent professional judgment.
This prosecutor should simply tell his boss to go to hell. His boss is conducting a political prosecution, unethical and twisted. Completely and totally disgusting and revolting of the client (the government) to insist on.
I can and frequently do tell my clients I cannot make the argument they want and won’t follow client instructions that are illegal.
Don’t these prosecutors have any spine?
Doing everything to avoid a “not guilty” verdict that sticks, including forcing a mistrial.
Damn, piling on charges after a competent defense for one charge? Ya think new charges might have meant a different defense? What’s she doing, trying to get whites to riot for total breakdown of judicial system? WTF, judge?
But to pull this at this late point in the trial?...They have their orders.
The governments want the riots. These moves are just to embolden the low information riots further, that the white system is against them, and the government is FOR them.

Good luck with that. The 2nd amendment assumes a public armed to the point of any government agency. Even the Department of Education has their own SWAT team.
Since Obama has had five + years to reshape the military, we can hardly expect help from the homosexual, feminists that will be the norm in the military at any time. I was selected to serve on a jury. The case was sexual assault on a stepchild.
On break another member of the selected jury who was a member of law enforcement was chatting with me.
He told me, that before the final selection of jurors was made both of us would be off the jury. I asked him why he thought so, and he told me that he could guarantee that no member of law enforcement, teacher, or a mother with a child would be on the jury.
He was correct at the end none of us who fit that category were in the jury.
This has Obama and Holders prints all over it..

Yes and no. In this case, the charge actually requires a different defense. Robbery is a lesser charge than murder, but I cannot wait until after you have rested your defense against murder to also charge you with taking $50 from the cash register.
