The acid test for GOPe inclusion is whether the candidate fits in a Manhattan or Georgetown cocktail party. Early in my career, I attended a few of the latter. To this day, it's the closest thing I've seen to the looters depicted in Atlas Shrugged. Partisanship is a strategy for fooling the voters to get elected/re-elected rather than grounded in ideology.
