Did Zimmerman Profile Martin — or the Other Way Around?

Why did the Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman case become a national obsession?

After all, about 14,000 murders take place every year in America. In just one city, Chicago, President Barack Obama’s adopted hometown, murders are on pace to reach around 400, down 27 percent from last year but on par with 2011. In 2012, only 26 percent of homicides were “cleared,” meaning the case was closed, with or without the killer being arrested or charged.

That Martin, a black person, was killed by Zimmerman, described as a white Hispanic, is rare. Most homicides are same-race crimes. Most black killers kill other blacks. Most white killers kill other whites.

So why this case?

For many, Martin’s death illustrates how young black men are unfairly “profiled” by cops, security officers and society in general. The unfair criminal stereotype of black men, they say, results in false arrests.

But in the end, the Zimmerman trial is a he-said/he’s-dead case. The only person who was there tells a far different story. Zimmerman had a swollen, if not broken, nose, cuts on the back of his head and black eyes. The defense argues that this shows Zimmerman, in fear for his life or serious bodily injury, defended himself by shooting and killing Martin.

Defense witnesses, who came across as credible, have refuted every witness for the prosecution.....

If the jurors are up to speed on the Florida law and have a sense of fairness, they will find George Zimmerman not guilty on both counts. This is a self defense case. This is not a following someone because you are a neighborhood watch captain case.

I heard a suggestion that the prosecution's star witness actually encouraged Trayvon to go after Zimmerman. Is there a recording (paging the NSA, please pick up the white courtesy phone) of their conversation? If so, why wasn't it allowed into the evidence?

Trayvon Martin, like all other predators thought he had an easy mark with Zimmerman. He figured he would give Zimmerman, “A Creepy White Cracker” in his words the beating of his life. It turned out bad for Martin as he will never stalk another victim. Somewhere George Zimmerman probably saved at least one other life besides his own.

Trayvon felt “dissed” or disrespected by Zimmerman. In ghetto culture, the worst thing you can do so someone is diss them. And in ghetto culture, the response to being dissed is violence.

If the liberals and race baiting types were honest about dissing, they would talk about this aspect of the case.

Kind of like the law of the jungle I guess. Survival of the fittest. The only difference being that an animal in the jungle kills to survive yet an animal in the ghetto kills because he likes it.

It really does not matter either way or both ways.

Profiling is not a crime.

Just a small correction: “Creepy Ass Cracker” is the phrase TM used, later callin GZ a “nigga”, according to Rachel or Diamond Eugene or DD... whatever she calls herself.

They both profiled each other. Not in the racial sense but, of egoism.

Nothing wrong with that until in acts out on their misunderstanding of each other, right up till one committed a physical act of aggression that had terrible results, ending in the death of the initial aggressor, who was physically and skill set superior to the other.

No audio recording of that call was entered into evidence. But I sure wish that there was one.

I’m in the camp that believes she got TM killed that night because of the way she acted afterwards. She went dark. She did everything she could to distant herself from what happened that night.

Agree. What sleazes the prosecution and the judge are! It is no wonder that Americans have lost faith in ‘truth, justice and the American Way’.
