We won't know anything until after the 2014 midterm elections.

I remember when George Allen was next in line until he lost.

As any effective conservative candidate likely will be.

The good ones take the heaviest fire and are either neutralized or eliminated as viable candidates.

We have seen a number of claims that Governor Perry is pushing amnesty. What is the proof that he has done that? The act about tuition for school children at state universities is not the same as amnesty. Perhaps you could inform us of when and where and through what measures Governor Perry promoted amnesty. I can’t find any information supporting that claim.

Did he actually push amnesty for the illegal invaders, that is, the parents? I was under the impression that members of the Texas legislature from both parties crafted a bill which was confined to giving illegal alien children who graduated form Texas high schools with the record required to go to a Texas university an equal tuition rate to the instate legal residents and citizens. Is that incorrect? According so Senator Cruz amnesty itself is not actually supported by the majority of Texans, even among those who came to Texas from Mexico. I would be interesting in knowing if Perry ever actually favored amnesty or a “path to citizenship” apart from the tuition break that was passed into law.

He supported a guest worker program, which is a backdoor amnesty program in disguise as far as the liberals are concerned. Perry called those of us opposed to the Dream Act "heartless". He supported open borders, he thought building a full fence along the border was ridiculous. He is really chummy with La Raza as well.

And even if it strictly remained the "guest worker" program that he laid out, Perry even said that it would allow people in to work who had no intention of becoming citizens. Nice, really flippin nice, bringing people in to take more jobs away from American citizens. I guess we aren't shipping enough to China, Vietnam, and Africa.

And why the hell should an illegal immigrant from Mexico City pay cheaper tuition in Texas than an American citizen from Oklahoma City or New York City?

If you want links to anything I mentioned above, they are easy enough to find on http://www.governor.state.tx.us/ - his speeches about open borders, guest workers, the tuition stuff, fences, etc. are all there in the open. His La Raza stuff is summed up in this video as well:

Hon. Rick Perry, Governor of Texas at 2010 NCLR Annual Conference

To Perry's credit, he hides none of this.

Thank you very much. I put La Raza into the search engine on the Perry site and saw his appointments of La Raza officials, his embrace of their radio station and so on. One wonders how he plans to successfully run for President in the face of the rising tide of public sentiment against amnesty. One particular wonders how he will get around the La Raza embrace of reconquista and of the idea of Aztlan? He will have to make some decisive move to limit his embrace, one suspects.
