I announce today my formal acceptance of all offers of support or asylum I have been extended and all others that may be offered in the future, Snowden said, reading from a written statement. He cited, for example, Venezuelas grant of asylum, but he said that some governments in Western Europe and North America were illegally interfering with my right to enjoy that asylum, making it impossible for him to travel to Latin America.
Accordingly, I ask for your assistance in requesting guarantees of safe passage from the relevant nations in securing my travel to Latin America, as well as requesting asylum in Russia until such time as these states accede to law and my legal travel is permitted, Snowden said. I will be submitting my request to Russia today, and hope it will be accepted favorably.

“Flexibility”.. Nice trick, 0bama. You’ve transferred a ton of our national security secrets to Russia, and you did it under the guise of a disgruntled employee. I wonder if our missile defense shield data is in that treasure trove?

It was clear from the very beginning. Neither Venezuela has toilet paper and cold beer nor able to provide any security.

I hate all of this. Home of the free.... yet we tear up our own Constitution. We appear to be hypocrites when we speak out on human rights issues.
It will also affect our business interests. Tech companies will pay a price for their collusion in the world marketplace.

Snowden says he will seek asylum in Russia And Putin now has the goods on everybody that Obama and the Rats have the goods on, plus he has the goods on Obama and the Rats.
This isn't working out the way Obama and his Rats planned.
So sad.

I have had to laugh at commentators on the cable news stations. I’ve heard some of the women, one just two days ago, laugh and say...I guess he’s sleeping on the floor in the airport.
Geez...if they did their homework, they would have found out the very first day that he’s at an airport hotel.

Folks need to remember that Snowden embarked upon his contract with the intention of disclosing secrets and that his major initial heartache was that Obama broke his promise to close Gitmo.
Also, remember, Snowden didn’t go to a member of Congress (such as Rand Paul) of the media to reveal this. He went to China. Then Russia. Now Venezuela.
And he has threatened to reveal other secrets as well.
Finally, he is the first US person with a security clearance to publicly state that Stuxnet was a joint US/Israeli operation. What possible “patriotic” motivation could he have had for that revelation???

I've said for weeks that Snowden may have been working for the Russians since he was a CIA tech security specialist in Switzerland six years ago. Snowden had diplomatic cover when he worked in Geneva. This would bring him into contact with other embassies and their staffs including the Russians.

I think Snowden has already been assured at least temporary asylum by Putey. Otherwise, he would have not put out this statement as it reads.
Obama should have immediately granted immunity to Snowden even before he landed in Hong Kong....and got his a$$ home along with his cache of secret information.
But he wanted to play the dramatic role of a manly black James Bond, dealing with a dangerous "spy".....and saving the country from Snowfinger.
Now the cold war will start cooling up again here and there with sniping, tensions, carping and mutual accusations between the U.S. and Russia....the conclusion of this affair being another brilliant and outstanding solution to a problem by the Obama/Kerry/Clinton-lite/Brennan cabal of international geniuses.
