—I just dont get where insulting someone verbally justifies assaulting someone physically.—
Really? There needs to be more people getting punched in the mouth for being idiotic. Should be an epidemic, in fact...maybe then some people would learn some manners.
Here here. I couldn’t have said it better. People who think they can say anything they want anywhere they want are deluded.
If someone insults me I figure they must have some self esteem or other issues and they just look like a fool, so I am not insulted.
And who defines ‘idiotic,” and isn't speech a protected right? I can say what I want, express myself, but yet if I offend someone then I am at fault. See just how easily your standard can be abused. . .look up campus speech codes.
Deliberate or not, the man has the right to offensive speech. . .that is the purpose of the First Amendment.
“...maybe then some people would learn some manners.”
Toe the politically correct non-offensive line. . .or else.
Civilized behavior, civilized speech is the goal. . used to be called being a good citizen. However, with all the self-esteem brainwashing going on, especially among black males, then any perceived ‘diss’ resulting in a physical smack-down is good to go. Being 'dissed' and responding violently to that diss is excused as an appropriate response. A drunk says something offensive and he can be attacked. . .like some drunk you don't know really is someone to take seriously..
How about this, words when uttered by a drunk are just that. . .words uttered by a drunk and unless you hold that drunks opinion in high regard, then why be bothered by a drunks words? Makes no sense.
Offended? Big deal. The guys a drunk after all and smacking down a drunk is no big thing. . .and may even be considered a cowardly act because the drunk is not in exactly the best of condition to defend himself.
I couldn't agree more. The crime rate would probably drop, and you'd also have a lot less bullying out there.
