Tamaulipas’ murder rate up 90 percent, kidnappings double, U.S. State Department says

Murders in Tamaulipas jumped more than 90 percent and kidnapping reports more than doubled over last year to the highest rate among any state in Mexico, a new travel warning issued Friday by the U.S. State Department says.

The State Department maintained its stance that U.S. citizens should defer all non-essential travel to Tamaulipas, as carjackings, armed robberies, gun battles and grenade attacks continue to pervade the region, including The data on kidnappings and murders in the Mexican state that borders South Texas sheds light into a state where such information is typically difficult to obtain from local officials.

“These crimes occur in all parts of the city at all times of the day,” the bulletin reads.

Still, the number of U.S. citizens slain in Mexico dropped 37 percent last year — to 71 reported murders. Most killed in narco-violence are members of drug cartels, but “innocent persons have also been killed,” the warning says.

State Department employees in Tamaulipas continue to have a midnight to 6 a.m. curfew — as has been the case for more than a year. The warning mentions four masked and armed individuals who tried to kidnap a U.S. Government employee in broad daylight in Matamoros in February.

“All travelers should be aware of the risks posed by armed robbery and carjacking on state highways throughout Tamaulipas, particularly on highways and roads outside of urban areas along the northern border,” the warning says. “Traveling outside of cities after dark is particularly dangerous.”

No highway routes through Tamaulipas are considered safe, but many crimes reported by U.S. citizens to the consulate in Matamoros have taken place along the Matamoros-Tampico highway — a stretch of territory controlled by either the Gulf Cartel or Los Zetas.

U.S. citizens have fallen victim to criminal activity, including homicide, gun battles, kidnapping, carjacking and highway robbery.Further into story...U.S. citizens have been trapped and temporarily prevented from leaving the area. TCOs have used stolen cars, buses and trucks to create roadblocks on major thoroughfares, preventing the military and police from responding to criminal activity. The location and timing of future armed engagements is unpredictable. We recommend that you defer travel to the areas indicated in this Travel Warning and exercise extreme caution when traveling throughout the northern border region.I just happen to comes across this.I am sure not many papers will print this up. Obama should blast Mexico for human rights violations, racial profiling, demand action from Mexico. Obama has other things on his mind amnsety, golf, upcoming vacations If this happened in American to illegal Mexicans from Mexico...The gov of Mexico would blast America.Knowing Obama he would invite new prez to White House to address congress on what God awful country we are.. The Dems,Obama,Joe Biden,Nacy,Harry,etc,etc would all stand and applaud Mexico nod in agreement.I assume we want hear a word about this from Gang of 8 or any churches,or any dreamers, protesters, in any immigration activity here in America.The churches should advise the criminals,to welcome the stranger, not rob them,carjack them,kidnap them, murder them,etc,etc.. That policy seems to only apply here.

These are the folks “immigration reform” will end up importing. One thing that never seems to get mentioned is disease. The mass influx of illegals that will occur if this “reform” happens will bring a lot of their diseases in addition to crime and welfare abuse. Third world diseases that we haven’t seen here in decades will become mainstream again..
