Applaud her appeal to this communist organization but any organization which by its very name is racist, tries to address racial issues, it is like an abortionist trying to abort only pro-life people.

I, too, am proud of her and the pastor’s courage to speak so truthfully in front of a hostile crowd. I hope some of those who listen will change their hearts toward the truth.

However, I think we need to qualify a bit your comment that the NAACP is merely a “communist organization and “racist by its very name”.

Like many organizations founded long ago, such as several well-known Ivy-League colleges, some of whose foundings were Christian or conservative, many have left their original goals and missions and gone off the deep end into Marxism.

This is also true of the NAACP. In its early years, it was often connected with the Republican party because Republicans were for equality and freedom for all American citizens. I’m not saying it was sponsored by Republicans, far from it, but it wasn’t based on “communism” or “marxism” either. The NAACP never espoused communism in its founding. In fact, here is their mission statement as given in 1911:

“To promote equality of rights and to eradicate caste or race prejudice among the citizens of the United States; to advance the interest of colored citizens; to secure for them impartial suffrage; and to increase their opportunities for securing justice in the courts, education for the children, employment according to their ability and complete equality before law.”

I think we would have to agree that blacks, in 1911, were not fairly treated nation-wide in the “courts, education, employment according to their ability” - especially in the South.

However, you are absolutely correct that this once good organization is now gone completely left-wing. This occurred during the late 1960’s and into the 1970’s. So, your claim about them being a communist organization and racist has been true since the mid-1970’s.

Barring a miracle, I don’t see the NAACP changing back to its original mission, which is what these two brave black conservatives are basically asking this group to do.
