Obama on Zimmerman verdict: 'A jury has spoken'
NBC News ^ | July 14, 2013

President Barack Obama urged Americans to keep calm in the wake of Saturday's jury verdict finding George Zimmerman not guilty of charges associated with the controversial shooting death of black teen Trayvon Martin.

"I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher," Obama said Sunday in a statement. "But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son."

‘And in the wake of the verdict. I know those passions may even run higher.’

Is that right Mr. President - - - you happen to know this - hmmmmm
Sounds to me like the verdict was not what you expected/hoped for.
Disgusting.

Actually, the VERdict of your so-called re-eLECtion has left millions of Americans with the PASSION of restoring America to her original greatness since you and your thugs - er - administration have been hell-bent on destro - I mean fundamentally changing America.

Obama is in a lot of hot water shooting off his mouth. His remarks regarding sexual harassment in the military has gotten a bunch military members off the hook.

Obama and his comrades must know they'd look like even bigger asses if this went any further.

I seriously think we should employ an Alinski rule and start ridiculing Obama as a local sheriff instead of POTUS, can't handle the big stuff so he jumps into earth-shaking situations like a guy getting arrested for disorderly conduct in Cambridge or a self-defense case in Sanford FL.

Personally I think he looks ridiculous butting into local law enforcement. Has another POTUS ever dabbled in this kind of thing?

George Zimmerman has sued NBC Universal for defamation. The company strongly denies the allegation.

What is there to deny? You fabricated a narrative and a videotape. Put it in front of a jury. Any jury.

NBC can rot in hell.

i don't honor pot smoking, thieving, gangbangers. he did more for his family financially by dying than he would have his whole worthless life. True, I think they got at least a mil in April for the wrongful death lawsuit they had. Not to mention didn't mom ask for the t-shirt rights for I am Trayvon?

He said something “intelligent” that was written for him because his handlers realize that rioting isn’t going to happen and they don’t want him to look even more racist and hateful than he already does.

“That’s a much better statement than I would have expected.”

We hear what he says, but we don’t know what he’s doing behind the scenes. (We can guess.) It’s his nature to be evil; do not trust him.

Travyon[tm]’s mother (who didn’t raise him after the age of 3) trademarked his name.

Notice he said “A jury”, not “The jury”.

He might as well have said "A legal system" and not "Our legal system." He's indirectly questioning the legitimacy of that jury. This is a dog whistle you and I can hear.

Ok, for the sake of it I’ll give him slow golf claps for this statement, despite his use of the article A instead of The.

But we will keep an eye on that fool at the DO”J”.

I am pleased by that statement. I would not have expected it, but am pleased none the less. I’ll give credit where credit is due - I’m not so jaded by partisanship not to do so. Now, allow actions and the actions of federal agencies to back that statement up by respecting the decision of the jury.

All about ‘his son’ ... a prelude to civil rights charges, IMO.

“a jury”
“circle of compassion and understanding”
“gun violence”
“honor Trayvon Martin”

“Zimmerman has filed suit against NBC Universal. VERY good.”

Any word of a fund to donate to help with his attorney fees?

We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this.

Make sure white folks don't have guns to protect themselves.

Kind of worrying when you consider how Obama traditionally behaves.

Say one thing and do another.

Given the call by the naacp for a "just-us department 'civil rights' investigation," you can bet that Holder and his cronies will be all over this like stink on Obama.

They're going to be going after Zimmerman, ruining what remains of his life, much like the media and government did to Richard Jewel.

Hopefully Zimmerman will begin by suing NBC. I'd LOVE to see them be forced to do a huge settlement and a big public apology, announced by Al Sharpton!

That was the first thing I noticed also.

Why has no one called for black families to do a better job of raising their kids to respect the laws? This hoodlum, Trayvon Martin, was on his way to becoming an expensive charge to the citizens of Florida.

Instead of complaining that the jury didn’t punish someone from protecting himself from a wild man who thinks getting high and beating up on people is the ultimate goal in life, the self-described African-american, Barry the 0bama, who is half white (making him a white african by NYT standards), should be demanding that other self-described blacks raise their children better, and that parents stay together to provide a family for their children, and not just lessons in how to collect welfare.
