If we start a civil rights action, it’ll energise angry black people. On the other hand, where else will they go, and we’ll end up looking stupid pursuing a non-case and then losing. On the other hand, it’ll bankrupt the Zimmerman family to have to keep shelling out money for lawyers. OK. Sounds like a plan.

If DOJ moves forward then they lose any scintilla of credibility they may have left.

The FBI said there is no case - the DOJ can’t create a case.

We cannot let mobs rule our justice system.

I’m not racist, but damn if I support any more black owned businesses. Their true colors are showing!

The State of Florida Prosecutor’s office also COVERED UP that Travon Martin had kiddie porn on his cell phone, as well as pics of him menacingly holding a handgun. But, their IT guy testified to the truth, and was then FIRED for that!!

CNN is running/pushing this story

My question to their one sided panels is this??? Can George Zimmerman bring a Civil suit against the Martin family?

Would go something like this... The stress that this has placed on the Zimmerman family because their son was not properly raised?

Can George Zimmerman bring a Civil suit against the Martin family?

I would certainly think he can sue the estate of Trayvon Martin for medical bills, lost wages, and any other damages since it has been adjudicated that he was acting in self-defense against Martin's attacks. There is a Trayvon Martin Trust, which he could also probably sue.

I doubt that he will though, as he will likely be paid handsomely in any settlement with NBC, and he doesn't seem to be the type of guy to do it anyway.

Yes George comes across as a really great guy. Not sure many of us would be as lucky to have some of the friends George has supporting him.

Such as the Army medic etc

As for George suing Martin`s, was perhaps said with tongue in cheek

Those CNN /MSNBC folks are raising my blood pressure

These liberal Black`s are not making good impression on me, sorry

The juror who appeared yesterday on CNN said she would like to have GZ on her neighboorhod watch. She said GZ was telling the truth.

I am outraged by this case right from the beginning

And I am also OUTRAGED at the lack of OUTRAGE even on this forum...There is still a lack of outrage

Occurred to me after I posted, that I did not add that my outrage was that George was charged at all, and that my outrage continues now that there is a move to charge him again

Just to clarify....Seems to me that not enough people even here, share my outrage

“Just to clarify....Seems to me that not enough people even here, share my outrage”

The people closest to the incident, the Sanford Police had already made the decision no crime had been committed by GZ based on their investigation. They were correct from day one. The State of Florida and FedGov overruled the local Police authorities as a response to pressure groups. It is outrageous to me that the State of Florida and FedGov can choose to ruin GZ’s life like that, and that they continue to pile on with threats of additional bogus charges to be drummed up at the federal level.

I think there are many more people here on this forum that are outraged about this than you may realize. Anyone with a working knowledge of the rule of law and the civil right of self defense should be as outraged as you are.

Even if they file it in the District of Columbia and hand select a jury from the citizens of the District?

Even a Federal trial must be held in the jurisdiction where the alleged offense took place. It would have to be held in Florida, and reasonably close to Sanford/Orlando. Holding a trial in DC, for something that occurred in Florida is something that even Holder cannot do...

You would be correct in that assessment, Gabrial. I'm outraged by the thought of the Eric Holder DoJ even thinking about trying to make a Federal case against Mr. Zimmerman.

That said, the outrage is tempered a bit by the same knowledge of the rule of law you quoted. The Eric Holder DoJ has no more of a case to successfully prosecute than Angela Corey and Bernie De la Rionda did, and it would end the exact same way, with an acquittal. I know this, and more importantly, *they* know this.

When all is said and done this is mere bluster, nothing more. They shot their entire wad in the criminal trial, trying to coerce a conviction on a case with evidence which varied from weak, to non-existent. They failed...

We are in agreement apart from semantics I guess

But really there was not that many that took part in the discussions here up until a very short time ago, the interest seemed to fall from last year, really not until the middle of the trial.

There were huge important rulings that took place in this case that never even made front page here, you had to search FR under Zimmerman to find the really small group of regulars that took part.

Even then more and more Freepers came by offering negative comments.

Fox News is a great example, they originally went full tilt with this last year, seemingly taking GZ under their wing, but with the multiple Obama scandals really dropped the coverage.

Fox coverage of the actual trial was very hard to follow, really the only cable news station that did not follow the entire trial, at one point they realized they missed the story and started covering it again, then the plane crash and Egypt and they dropped it again

You could not really count on Fox coverage so in my case had to switch between cnn and msnbc for live trial coverage

Hannity came around again but really not until midway through the trial.

When I say where is the outrage on the right side, the side of supporting GZ, I still see a lack of outrage

nuff out of me

I predict they will look at it for at least a month, possibly two and then decline to prosecute.

They’ll look at how any announcements will impact any gun control legislation and maneuver for their benefit.

“Underneath it all, this is what we’re talking about here: individuals must go, only groups should remain.”

Sounds like Tribalism (and “it takes a village” socialism) to me. You know, the same tribalism that has made Africa the “human-rights champion” that it is today (yes, that’s sarcasm).

And Holder and Obama would bring this same “success story” to America if we let them.
