Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard has called for development banks with a combined annual lending pot of €130 billion ($170 billion) to end support for fossil fuels in their energy lending policy reviews.

“I am particularly keen to see three international financial institutions—the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the World Bank—join with their EU and OECD partners to take a lead role in eliminating public support for fossil fuels,” she said in the foreword to a report on bank lending policies in the Western Balkans, published on 25 June.

Although all three banks have policies aimed at encouraging lending to renewables and energy efficiency, in practice fossil fuel projects, plants and infrastructure continue to benefit from their largesse. Natural gas projects are a main source of funding. …

Hey Connie...the Lord and Master of the Universe....

.... King Barack "Canute" Obama the Great.....

...Obama issues an Executive Order to the Sun...

....to increase it's magnetic field....

and make a good crop of sunspots before elections in 2016....

(PhysOrg.com) -- Sunspot formation is triggered by a magnetic field, which scientists say is steadily declining. They predict that by 2016 there may be no remaining sunspots, and the sun may stay spotless for several decades.

The last time the sunspots disappeared altogether was in the 17th and 18th century, and coincided with a lengthy cool period on the planet known as the Little Ice Age....and lasted 400 years.

Good luck surviving with no electricity and GE modified seeds.

My wife and I recently observed an important wedding anniversary by taking a cruise. It departed Dover, England, with stops in Norwegian ports from Oslo to the North Cape above the Arctic Circle. Along the way in the North Sea our ship was surrounded by hundreds of oil platforms pumping merrily away night and day to fill the treasuries of Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and the UK.

Our Norwegian hosts were quick to brag loudly about this oil wealth that supports cradle-to-grave welfare state benefits for the citizens. Their skies are clean: most of the wealth-generating oil is shipped off to pollute other areas of the planet, or so they rationalize.

I am dumbstruck by the incredible hypocrisy and arrogance of these people. If they believe fossil fuels should be denied other areas of the world, let them set an example by shutting down their own operations. Their overreaching smugness really makes me angry!
