The man’s simply telling us that the Muslim problem isn’t as bad as you think, not that there isn’t a problem.
Maybe you should consider why you’re so emotionally invested in Britian being a mess that you deny what people who live there tell you. Sometimes ignorance is willful.
There are lots of Pollyannas who live in the U.S. and specialize in telling us that everything is just great.
Turns out they're full of crap too.
As a matter of fact, I AM emotionally invested in the fate of Great Britain, for several reasons.
The U.K. is America’s strongest ally for many decades standing. Our cultural, legal, & linguistic bonds go back much further than that.
Scotsman says London is not the U.K., I agree, of course since New York City is not America. But what happens in a nation’s cultural capital tends to spread to the larger society.
Britain’s Muslim infestation (yes, that’s what it is) is proportionately far worse for them than our little Dearbornistan. Essentially, the descendants of their former empire are coming to roost. The confines of an island nation complicate things further.
There is no upside to Islam. Bottom line. The only good Muslim is a bad Muslim. A Muslim who treats women as equals, scorns the notion of a global Caliphate, and who does not seek special privilege or wall himself off from the larger non-Muslim society, isn’t much of a Muslim. But he is a better human being. And even if he is a tolerant person while identifying as Muslim, his views are not the views that drive the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda, or the Taliban.
Britain’s Muslim problem is far worse than Anjem Choudary & his jihadi thugs. Someone here has pointed out that huge amounts of money from the Gulf states are pouring in and buying up large portions of financial infrastructure in U.K. and that can’t be a good thing.
The Scotsman is a British patriot and optimistic about his country’s future. But in my opinion the news crossing the Atlantic about the growing invasive Muslim presence in Britain may only be the tip of the iceberg (another Titanic metaphor) and Scotsman’s assurances to the contrary sound more & more like whistling past the graveyard.
Finally, my belief is that as Great Britain goes, so goes America. For many years I believed that the greatest threat to individual liberty was the world communist movement. As evil as it was, communism did not even last for a century.
Islam, also a totalitarian movement, began fourteen centuries ago in the Arabian peninsula and is now resurgent and threatening to all in the world that is non-Islamic, by its own Koranic teachings.
And that’s why I’m concerned about Britain.
