According to a source very close to the Republican Congressional leadership, Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner granted Patrick Murphy’s request to a private meeting to discuss Murphy’s possible defecting to the Republican Party.

If the GOP lets him "defect" to the GOP, it will be more evidence of just how inept they are. They don't need his vote now. And if he is this vulnerable, he most likely will lose in 2014. So he defects and the GOP spends 2014 defending a weak candidate in that district rather than running a strong candidate against him. This would be such a bad idea, such a way to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, that you'd almost think the Dems put him up to it to make the best of a bad situation.

The blog says that Boehner passed on Murphy’s meeting.
This is the same guy who likely stole Allen West’s seat with voter shenanigans that went on in that FL District.
Murphy likely won’t make it past 2014.
I read it as something else, which he will probably be just another piece of.

FWIW, I came to this realization years ago. So did my Dad. He left the rez mentally even before World War II broke out. He left it for good when he enlisted in the Navy the week after Pearl Harbor. He was disappointed because they sent him home and told him to come back in January. They had more volunteers than they could process.
He came back in January to enlist as instructed and became an officer by the war's end. We knew about his ties to the Reservation, but he would never let us claim them telling us that if we needed to get ahead based on race, we weren't good enough to get ahead. I finally found his tribal registration when the 1940 census went public last year.
Dad hated FDR with a purple passion. But he loved his country even more. Not one of his seven kids grew up to be a bed wetting liberal. In fact, my sister in Texas is so conservative, she makes me look liberal by comparison.
If we had a real Republican party, he’s never consider the switch and would not be welcome.
There’s just not much difference these days.

Maybe that is how Boehner is going to get a “majority” of his party to support amnesty for illegal aliens — by stuffing the party with bogus Republicans.
