Patrick Murphy is not even close to being conservative enough, or representing a district unwinnable enough, to consider welcoming him to the Republican Party. Mike McIntyre of NC-07 and Collin Peterson of MN-07 I would accept; Henry Cuellar of TX-28, Dan Lipinski of IL-03 and Sanford Bishop of GA-03 I would consider.

I wouldn’t take McIntyre since we can and hopefully are gonna beat him. He had his chances. Or fine take him but I’d hope he’d get Parker Griffithed.

The others you name we can’t beat so yeah, Peterson’s seat will go GOP when he retires but the other seats we’d be lucky to have. Romney actually did a couple points better in Lipinski’s seat than he did in the any of the GOP seats we lost in state but I don’t know. Cuellar’s seat, no. Bishops’s as redrawn, unlikely.

Bishop has drifted further to the left but it would humiliate them to have a sitting Black member defect.
