Seems like I read about this kind of company in Atlas Shrugged.

"Nobody can divide a factory’s income among thousands of people, without some sort of a gauge to measure people’s value. Her gauge was bootlicking. Selfless? In her father’s time, all of his money wouldn’t have given him a chance to speak to his lousiest wiper and get away with it, as she spoke to our best skilled workers and their wives. She had pale eyes that looked fishy, cold and dead. And if you ever want to see pure evil, you should have seen the way her eyes glinted when she watched some man who’d talked back to her once and who’d just heard his name on the list of those getting nothing above basic pittance. And when you saw it, you saw the real motive of any person who’s ever preached the slogan: ‘From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.’"

They won’t associate cause and effect,

because their “cause” was to feel good about themselves for supporting particular policies.

That these policies subsequently have negative outcomes is of little or no concern, and definitely won’t be associated with the policies that made them “good people”.

take over their business, and operate it as an ‘Employee owned’ fully financed by .gov After all, ‘You didn’t build that.’

Look up a documentary called The Take. Already happening in places like Argentina.

Kent State has a ESOP program.

In theory, a promise to share the wealth is the driving force in making employee-owned companies successful.

Nationwide, ESOPs account for about 10 percent of the private-sector work force, with about 10 million employees, according to the ESOP Association in Washington, D.C. Most have between 20 and to 400 employees. Ohio has about 350 companies with such plans.

ESOP’s are fine because they either bought or built the business themselves.

What is going on in these countries is that workers are seizing the assets and operating them with government assistance.

No, lol. The kind of simpleton who voted for the African communist Ubama knew absolutely nothing about "policies". But you are right that many wanted "to feel good about themselves" - - "Look at me! I am special! I am NOT a racist! I voted for a BLACK president! Ain't I a thoughtful and wonderful human being?"

Add in a slick slogan that could have been fashioned by a boardwalk psychic - - the thoroughly meaningless but great-sounding "hope and change" - - and you have a perfect recipe for attracting the votes of the massive ignorant chattering class.
