Dayton says Trayvon Martin case strengthens his resolve on gun laws(America's dumbest governor?)

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton said Wednesday that the Florida case involving Trayvon Martin's death in a scuffle with a neighborhood watch volunteer has stiffened his opposition to efforts to expand cases where lethal force is presumed legitimate.

Dayton commented on last weekend's acquittal of George Zimmerman in the fatal shooting of Martin in 2012. Dayton said while he isn't privy to evidence jurors in the case saw, he personally believes Zimmerman "went way beyond what was called for in the situation."

He tied the case to proposals recently before lawmakers to expand Minnesota's stand-your-ground law in which people can use reasonable, potentially deadly force to defend themselves, their home or dwelling. A bill he vetoed in 2012 would have included hotel rooms, tent, cars and boats. Backers say potential victims of crime shouldn't have to retreat from aggressors.

Dayton said the Martin case underscores the need for limits.

"We have to use common sense here. People have the right to protect themselves. On the other hand, we have a sanctity of life that I think we all believe in," Dayton said.

I guess having your head repeatedly bashed against concrete isn’t enough reason for self defense, according to this dope.
It’s an old saying, but I’d rather be judged by twelve than carried by six.

"America's dumbest governor."

Well, I wouldn't exactly call him that. On second thought, yeah I would.

America's dumbest governor?

Mark Dayton has finally found something at which he can excel.

When he was a U.S. Senator, he had competition from the likes of Patty Bin Murray and Joe Biden for the title.

“...America’s dumbest governor...”

I am more and more convinced that those going into politics are clustered into the left side of the Bell Curve. I don’t know whether or not it always was that way, but given the academic slackers pretending to be intellectuals whilst holding lib arts departments hostage - and given that our political class is not exactly inclined to pursue difficult subjects in college, methinks that the unfortunate result is demonstrated daily by comments from our congresscritters, government officials, and the MSM.

Quite simply, their low intellect is painfully obvious, and fewer and fewer folks respect them.

He’s just pissed because with his history of mental problems, he couldn’t own a gun if he wanted to.

Of course it would have been much better if St. Trayvon had just continued pounding
Zimmerman's head into the concrete until his skull cracked and his brains poured out.

That way no evil guns would have been used.

“America’s dumbest governor?”

He would have to compete with Jerry Brown for that distinction.

I lived in California when Reagan was president and Brown was governor (the first time). He attained an illusion of competence because the national economy was recovering so fast.

Brown would have to contact a serious case of dementia to even compete with Dayton in the dumbness contest.

Zimmerman was supposed to respect the “sanctity” of Traythug’s life while Traythug beat Zimmerman’s head into the ground until he died. This dumbazz governor thinks that if Zimmerman had just asked nicely, Traythug would have stopped?

“Brown would have to contact a serious case of dementia to even compete with Dayton in the dumbness contest.”

I have met Brown several times and suspect there is something wrong with him. Someone told me he had no idea what a corporate balance sheet was...eight years after he left office the first time.
