Yes he does get it. He seems to be THE voice of reason on this issue. Good to see him calling out Norquist. Norquist is not to be trusted.

The new GOP needs to be the party of Main St.

The GOP is done. I’ll take the Liberty Party, thank you.

Mr. Sessions, it’s worst than that. IMO, there is something fundamentally wrong with our fed govt when they think it’s okay to lay off workers so that they can continue to spend and tax us.

Maybe so, but then you’d have more unemployed. And those on the Hill make twice as much as many fed workers.

How about cutting out some of their employees, you know assistants to assistants? Force some older employees to retire, many are still there after 40 years. How about stop paying Secret Service to shadow retired Presidents and their families? And sending billions of our much needed money overseas? I think those would make a bigger impact on saving money than laying off fed workers.

My point is there are better ways to do it. But they don’t want to stop spending our hard earned money but they’re going to short employees a day of pay.

Doing the next right thing, is a state of being, by good action. It’s the rite/right of passage. Doing the next right thing, has nothing to do, with what you described. On what you said, I agree.

Actually, it can be done with minimal pain, albeit over an extended amount of time. As federal emplyees retire, you simply close off those positions and don't fill them. Over a 10-15 year period, you should be able to cut the federal workforce by a pretty fair percentage, with no uptick in unemployment (related to the fed workforce, at least). Of course, you have the other problem of government pensions, which are unsustainable as currently setup, but that is a discussion for another thread, I guess.

An RNC slickster called me about ten days before the 2012 election.

When asked, he said the RNC was helping conservatives, like Michele Bachmann.

Well, Michele had been on Mark Levin's show the night before. No help from RNC.

For some reason, I calmly, rather than loudly called him out as a liar.

No contribution. Ever.
