DOJ Won’t Give Back Zimmerman’s Gun

Let’s step back and take a long, hard look at what Eric Holder’s Justice Department is doing right now.

George Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting of Trayvon Martin. He has no further business in court with the state of Florida and is a free man.

Rather than accept the jury’s verdict, Holder’s DOJ convened a conference call with several left-wing groups to plot a course to continue harassing Zimmerman. With FBI agents on the call, Holder sought information from those groups to help build a case.

Do those groups know Zimmerman or have any personal knowledge of the case that was not presented in the trial? It’s extremely unlikely that they do.

Holder’s DOJ is also releasing an email address to which people are being exhorted to send tips about George Zimmerman, again, to build a case against him.

Did George Zimmerman rob a bank? Did he shoot an airplane out of the sky? Did he bring a building down?

No. He was acquitted by a jury in a fair court trial.

But the United States Department of Justice is focusing on this one man, who has been put through due process and acquitted in a court of law.

Today, we learn that the United States Department of Justice is ordering the state of Florida to break its own law.

The state case against Zimmerman is over. He won. He is entitled under Florida law to assume custody of any of his property that the state seized in the process of prosecuting him.

Holder says no, he can’t have it.....

"It’s apparent to anyone paying attention that the NSA spying uncovered a lot of dirt on a lot of republican politicians."

Worth repeating. Everyone needs to understand this.

We are past the point of saving this country by "legal" methods.

So because you think he handled himself badly and was clumsy or something he doesn’t get his weapon and other possessions back? Wow. Am I still on FreeRepublic? Dayum.

He defended his life and acted completely fine. Are you sick in the head?

GZ in noway handled himself poorly at all. He used his gun as a last resort and after the fact gave interviews and took a lie detector with a lawyer, and passed btw. The bastard government is who acted poorly. You're right seeing comment like that on here immediately make me think troll account.

His clumsiness made the situation deadly.

The only thing that made the situation deadly was Trayvon Martin's persistence in bashing George Zimmerman's head for 45+ seconds. Had Trayvon Martin not decided to do that, he'd still be alive.

Holder has no authority to prevent the rightful return of property.

At this point they are just admitting that they are going to handle this situation by continually busting George Zimmermans balls until they kill him or he commits suicide.
I would have left the country immediately myself, assuming they immediately return his passport.

“DOJ Won’t Give Back Zimmerman’s Gun”

Don’t be surprised if it turns up in Mexico sometime in the near future.

Zimmerman should have identified himself as an armed neighborhood watch and pulled his piece at the beginning. One of the best uses of a firearm is to defuse a situation. Martin attacked Zimmerman because he thought he could get away with it he didn’t recognize the danger.

I don’t quite know where you got the notion I thought Zimmerman should lose his “other posessions”.

Pretty much figured Holder has no authority to withhold personal property without legal cause. However, if Zim wants the same gun, the Kel Tec PF9, he can find the cost of one a little over $300. ...If he can find one available.

If you think for a minute you might realize that the situation should have never gotten to that point where anyone was defending their life.

Had Trayvon Martin not decided to do that, he'd still be alive.

Had Martin known that Zimmerman was armed, Martin probably still be alive too.

Concealed carry is not always a good thing Zimmerman's gun should have been visible to Martin BEFORE the attack took place.

Please explain to me why you think he shouldn’t have his legally-purchased and owned pistol returned to him now that he has been acquitted and is no longer under any charges. Also, you do know that the HOA approved the neighborhood watch that he was the leader of, right? He wasn’t the “self-appointed” neighborhood watchman that the media and racialists make him out to be. Perhaps you should review the videos or transcripts of the trial.

Alright give him his gun back but don’t let him carry it in public concealed. The man acted weak, inept and stupid.

Stalking around in the dark after a suspect with no flashlight and your gun in your pocket is an invitation to be jumped.

He has a state-issued license to carry concealed. You do know this is Free Republic, right? And you’ve been here how long? Maybe read the constitution this weekend.

I know very well what Free Republic is, I’ve been here awhile. We should all have the right to own a gun, but not all people should be allowed to go around armed. Had Martin been armed there would be an unsolved murder in Sanford, Zimmerman’s.

GZ acted in self defense because he had to as the last act of a farce. He is not a hero to me.
