Protesters concerned about race relations in Pittsburgh camped outside Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's office overnight, and, when he failed to materialize by morning, they headed to his house... “I wholeheartedly believe in the right to peaceful assembly, however, that does not give anyone the right to damage private property and to frighten people's young children,” Ravenstahl said. Ravenstahl has a son, Cooper, 4.

what is the mayor of Pittsburgh supposed to do about a resolved court case in Florida?

That was my first thought also. I suppose the next target of the protesters will be NASA. Then perhaps they'll protest outside the Swiss Embassy.

Or the county Prothonotary.

I'm suspecting that you might be an older Pittsburgher.

From Wikipeadia:

U.S. President Harry S Truman was introduced to a prothonotary during a campaign stop in Pittsburgh in 1948.

It is widely rumored that Truman's first reaction upon hearing the term "prothonotary" was to say "What the hell is a prothonotary?"

“Protesters concerned about race relations”

Funny how the very ones who claim to be concerned are the ones doing the most damage!

Not a rumor. My grandfather was there and saw it. The Prothonotary went away in 2005 in a reorg of country row offices. It had something to do with handling court paperwork.

I’m not that old, but yes I was thinking of that anecdote with Truman.

We still have a Prothonotary in Westmoreland county.

IF I was Ravenstahl, I would ask those MORONS if Pittsburgh was in Sanford, Florida? I guess those morons want to cause trouble, because they don't know what a JOB is!

:) Well we can see the trend beginning in the mainstream now. With Detroit and Chicago. I know social security cuts have already effected government dependents and they are mad. THAT and there is no stopping the social justice spending, all of these marches and new “churches” and charities to carry this social justice message have to be paid for, right?

No cuts in vacation or leisure for the Obamas, or military build up for personal use.

SO- that means he has to distract from the coming cuts of SNAP funding and make it look like the racists don’t care about starting children.

When in fact the program is so corrupt that people are using the program as a black market by the millions and no one is going to starve.

The deals are done, I am sure. Something like- don’t defund Obamacare, and I will give you foodstamps???

I am reminded of THIS article: http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/13/will-obama-agree-to-entitlement-cuts-he-already-has/

Sorry, it was back when they were trying to pass Obamacare. Different time but still shows very selective news coverage.

A million march to US Capitol to protest against 'Obama the socialist'
