We’re learning today that just last year, at a public forum, George Zimmerman publicly testified against the Sanford police department in defense of a homeless black man. In other words, what we have here is more proof that the media narrative surrounding the shooting of Trayvon Martin might just end up being the most disgraced and failed media narrative since Duke-LaCrosse and the Tuscon murders.

George Zimmerman accused the Sanford police department of corruption more than a year before he shot Trayvon Martin, saying at a public forum the agency covered up the beating of a black homeless man by the son of a white officer. “I would just like to state that the law is written in black and white,” Zimmerman said during a 90-second statement to city commissioners at a community forum. “It should not and cannot be enforced in the gray for those who are in the thin blue line.”(continued)

Yeah, he's a regular Bull Connor, right Barry, Eric, Al and Jesse? Funny how this news was kept from the public since February of 2012, huh? I seem to remember seeing something about it last Spring, but is disappeared from the radar about as quick as it appeared.

Involved meaning he put up flyers in protest of the police beating the man....
We (locals) knew this when it happened and tried reminding people when he was arrested but it fell on deaf ears.
The problem with these damned race baiters is they don’t ever seem to pick a righteous fight. George Zimmerman is not racist- he’s a do-gooder and was. Democrat to boot. They chose the wrong guy and the wrong situation.
Of course it’s a mistake only if they TRULY want to solve/heal race relations. That in itself is questionable.

the link from that site is to an AP story that has nothing to do with zimmerman’s accusation of the sanford police department. i copy/pasted the first quoted paragraph and couldn’t find the original AP article. can anyone else find it?

I never read it before and I surf the web alot. I did NOT ignore this information so apparently you do not know everything after all.
LOL—I didn’t mean you personally—I meant the AP. But if you were surfing the AP then you wouldn’t have heard about this. Did you know that Zimmerman also has family that is black and that he mentored black children? There’s a lot of info out there on George which makes it very unlikely that he should be persecuted for a racial hate crime. The race baiters should have done some research on him before they chose George to be the object of hate in their community. They picked a black sympathizer instead. I wonder how George feels about the Black “community” in general now.

I believe I have lost respect for those in the black community who could have spoken up (media, celebrities) etc. but instead remained silent while Zim was threatened with death etc. I am not fond of Charles Barkley but he seems to be the only celebrity that spoke up at a time when it’s unpopular to do so. Yes, I have lost respect for those who knew and didn’t speak up.
Not only is he not a racist, but on the basis of his having a black great-grandfather, by American racial standards Zimmerman is black. So actually what you have is a case of a black person shooting another black person. Of course, Big Lib Media thought they had the perfect race story to inflame more racial resentment (which they succeeded in doing), but they had the opposite “evil” person from what they wished. Instead of Simon Legree they had George Zimmerman-—a black Hispanic who had a history of mentoring black kids and defending a black prisoner.
