More than two years after her upstart Senate campaign rocked the Delaware political world, Christine O'Donnell got an unexpected contact from a U.S. Treasury Department agent warning that her private tax records may have been breached.
The phone message earlier this year shocked the battled-scarred candidate, a tea party favorite who knocked off Republican mainstay Michael Castle in the primary before losing in a bid to win Vice President Joseph R. Bidens former seat.
Ms. O'Donnell, this is Dennis Martel, special agent with the U.S. Department of Treasury in Baltimore, Md. We received information that your personal federal tax info may have been compromised and may have been misused by an individual, he said in the January message left on her cellphone.
.........................................................
On March 9, 2010, the day she revealed her plan to run for the Senate in a press release, a tax lien was placed on a house purported to be hers and publicized. The problem was she no longer owned the house. The IRS eventually blamed the lien on a computer glitch and withdrew it.
Now Mr. Martel, a criminal investigator for the Treasury Departments inspector general for tax administration, was telling her that an official in Delaware state government had improperly accessed her records on that very same day.
Beyond that, Ms. O'Donnell and Senate investigators who have tried to help her have run into a wall of silence, leaving more questions than answers about whether abuses of the IRS system extend to private individuals and not just the tax-exempt groups already identified as victims.
I dont know. And Id like to know, Ms. ODonnell told The Washington Times in her first interview about the case.

Obviously, someone within the Obama IRS had to be involved. But who were the outside persons who obtained what is legally confidential information? Could be Democrats, but also could be RINO Rovian Republicans who opposed her vigorously in the GOP primary.
Witches file tax returns?
Ping!!!
Witch or not, O'Donnell is still legally entitled to privacy in her tax documents. Whoever the jackasses are who conspired to violate her privacy in an attempt to get dirt on her should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!
Akin to a Watergate break-in I would surmise...I is for Impeachment.
Detroit is sucking all the air out of FR.
Please explain the connection between the Detroit bankruptcy and FR.
Just saying that Detroit is the big news story at FR over the last 24 hours.
It’s because the republican leadership are anti-TEA Party, and I think they knew about a lot of this but kept quiet so the fascists could have their way.
It will, because whoever leaked the info from the IRS is eligible for a felony conviction 5 years min. Think they will want to take the fall Obamugabe? I think not...
It's harder to dismiss when there is an actual candidate who was actually harmed by an actual Democrat who has an actual illegal access logged in the system.
The IRS and the FBI are refusing to release the records of the illegal access, claiming a privacy right of the abuser.
Besides, she's a witch so she deserves it, as opposed to Menendez in New Jersey who is a pedophile but Democrat, so he's protected.

Well, I have a clue as to the answer to your question.
All across America, ordinary citizens are also being terrorized by the IRS (Including me, an impoverished widow without assets or property), and people are becoming afraid of speaking up as the IRS has made their awesome power known by levying huge penalties for simple math and bank errors.
I just had to pay $500.00 for a 1099 error of $14.00 on my 2011 return.
I guess signing Lt. Col. Allen West’s 2010 election papers has made me a target.
And it is not “Paranoia”, as news stories have proven that we tin foil hat folks have been right all along.
Thanks for posting the Christine O’Donnell photo. To say the least, she hardly looks like a witch. (LOL!)
Robocop, the only 80’s movie showing the future that actually got any predictions right.
“Robocop, the only 80s movie showing the future that actually got any predictions right.”
Don’t forget “New Wave Hookers” (1985).
I need to bone up on the classics.
Bone up indeed. The Dark Brothers were the Christopher Nolan of 80’s smut.
