Five prison officers have been suspended after one of the men accused of hacking off-duty soldier Lee Rigby to death in Woolwich had two teeth knocked out.
The men were suspended from their duties from top-security Belmarsh Prison in south London after the alleged attack on Michael Adebolajo, 28, three days ago.
He had refused to obey officers instructions and had to be restrained, according to prison sources.
It is understood that five officers have to be on hand when Adebolajo leaves his cell.
Four of the officers were suspended on Thursday, while the fifth was suspended yesterday.
All of the officers are on full pay pending the results of the investigation.

Naturally I hope that any force directed towards Adebolajo was justified by his behaviour. And I hope he continues to exhibit behaviour that justifies such force.

He lost his teeth? Did they check the glass next to his bunk?

Bad move.
All prison guards in that prison just suffered a loss of respect and discipline.
The Government just told the prison that guards cannot protect themselves from attack and cannot discipline prisoners.
In a woosified England I would bet that the guards are already pretty tame and were justified in their actions.
What they are dealing with here is a Homocidal maniac Muslim who likes hurting people. IMO he should be kept in a locked room, strapped in a strait jacket and spoon fed bread and water until his execution.
This man gets off on hurting people and doesn’t mind being hurt in return.

The men were suspended from their duties from top-security Belmarsh Prison... These two guards with dental experience were saving Londoners tax dollars, avoiding the costs of transport and dental care, and this is how they are treated?

I’ve a feeling even the worst of England’s criminals would gladly purge the world of this vermin.

I almost made being a prison guard my career (Jesus had a different road for me though), but I have family and friend who are. You cannot understand the mindset of some of these "people" who end up behind the wall. Nuts doesn't even come close. I'm sure this will be painted as Prison Guard Justice, but it could very well have been this idiot with a 'tude bucking authority. I hope they have security cameras in place and release the video, one way or the other, to show who was at fault...
Still think a long drop with a short rope is in order for toothy...

Anything else is less than he deserves.

Oh, and a follow-on from something I saw last night: It seem the "low-information voters" due to their ignorance of the law, have formed their concept of what the law is and that is what they believe. Unfortunately, it doesn't come close to what the real law is, and therefore being a nation of laws is meaningless to them because their law doesn't match the laws in place.
The results? ANARCHY!!!

2 down, 30 to go.
Then he can become someone’s b*tch in the joint, until some good Britons decide to pry through a couple of prison bars... with his head.
Geez! Good thing I’m not in a bad mood today.

The fellow who was let go—will find a job soon. He need not pay for a pint in any pub for a while.

They should handle this like the New Jersey cops handle things - - leave him alone in a “recreation yard” with the baddest lifer in the prison and tell the lifer he’ll be flush in cigarettes for a year if things go right.
