Charles Barkley Agrees with Zimmerman Verdict
LA Times ^ | 7/19/13 | Melissa Rohlin

Charles Barkley has never been one to shy away from controversy, and on Thursday he weighed in with his opinion on the George Zimmerman verdict.

“Well, I agree with the verdict,” Barkley told CNBC. “I feel sorry that young kid got killed, but they didn’t have enough evidence to charge him. Something clearly went wrong that night — clearly something went wrong — and I feel bad for anybody who loses a kid, but if you looked at the case and you don’t make it — there was some racial profiling, no question about it — but something happened that changed the dynamic of that night.

Honesty from an unexpected source. I'm sure he'll be excoriated for this by his fellow players.

I don't care much about professional basketball, but it's refreshing to know that not every NBA player has embraced the ghetto thug mindset and attitude.

I bet there are some others that agree with him, but they won’t voice their opinions.

(Some does not mean a lot)

I never followed the NBA closely enough to say, but those that do tell me that there was a real sea change in the late 1980's or so, when most of the players went from (generally) being more or less decent role models for youth to being outright thugs.

As this story shows, not all of them have embraced the hood lifestyle and culture, but they really have to swim upstream to do so.

Agreed. Though they are far less than the majority, some are still what appear to be decent guys. Negativity seems to always get more press in everything nowadays though.

“Mr. Zimmerman was wrong to pursue, he was racial profiling,..."

I think you're wrong about that, Charles, I don't know of a scrap of evidence to support that, but you're right that Trayvon flipped out and you're definitely right that the media doesn't "have a pure heart." IMO the media are black-hearted enemies of us all.

I don’t know, he does say there was racial profiling so this sounds like nibbling around the edges to me.

Racial profiling? No question? Sorry Charles. GZ never mentioned a young african-American wearing a hoodie until asked by the NON-EMERGENCY call taker. At that point I don’t believe he was sure though. Now we have the ROTUS beatifying this little wanna be punk with a twitter (or facebook, I don’t remember which) handle of “no limit nigga’”? Friggin bizzaro world for sure. The lsm will never publish the information that WAS relevant about this punk. Dope smokin’ punk WAS the ROTUS 35 years ago. Only dif is that st. tray didn’t have a communist mentor like frank marshall davis.

Who is to say that "racial profiling" is wrong to begin with? Having to prove that there was no racial profiling already shows how far the law has capitulated to political correctness.

Should the TSA apply the same stringent search to Grandma Smith from Iowa as to Mohammed from Saudi Arabia? If the police are looking for the perps of a drive-by gang shooting, should a white businessman in a suit and tie be just as suspect as black or hispanic youths in baggy clothes?

Seems to be "racial profiling" is just a combination of statistics and common sense. Many police officers, including black policemen, would say the same.

Oh, there was racial profiling going on ... Treyvon martin profiled an Hispanic man that he saw as smaller than him, so he decided to try and bash the brains out of an Hispanic man. Charles needs to look at the episode with less racially motivated eyes.

According to Trayvon’s friend, Rachel, George was also being profiled as a homosexual predator

I don’t know of any evidence of that either. The evidence is that TM profiled GZ as a gay security cop.

I put zero credulity on Rachel Jeantel’s ramblings. I think she is too deeply into Magic Thinking to be trustworthy. She has been caught making things up, and I think she is making up most of what she is spew forth int he media campaign to misdirect away from the black hatred/democrip hatred of Hispanics.

Nothing infuriates the left more than when a black man goes off the liberal plantation-profiling at its worst.

It’s just PC BS. We know it and they know it. Nowadays it’s just another buzz word to keep the Reparations coming along with the Votes.

Remember, Reparations is a Liberal Code Word for Revenge.

True.

There is a lot of hatred between blacks and hispanics. But where did you get the notion that the Democrats hate hispanics? Last time I checked, they've been even better at pandering towards La Raza and other Hispanic special interests than our latest batch of PC Republicans.
