What part of the country did you live in?
that was north central IN 1960ish
there was a community of blacks nearby that had come there to get out of Chicago. Swampy, worthless ground.
They lived in houses that would be Third World. Got their kids and grandkids out of Chitown, but most of the youth ended up going back there eventually.
