A 6-year-old girl remained in critical condition Saturday after she was seriously wounded in a shooting Friday night while at a vigil with her family in the Roseland neighborhood.
Police sources told NBC Chicago Saturday a person of interest is in custody in connection with the shooting.
It happened at about 7:40 p.m. in the 300 block of West 105th Street, according to Fire Media Affairs.
Quianna Tompkins and at least 40 others were at the home for a memorial for 24-year-old Brandon "Bones" Snipe, who was killed five years ago, when gunfire erupted.

The report Craig Rivera filed on this was sad. He interviewed a kid 6 or 7 years old who said “She was just riding her bike. I saw them put her into the ambulance. Craig asked him if was afraid. He “Yeah, I’m afraid I’ll get shot.”
We’ve got to put these boys to work. Send busses in and take them to pick up trash on the highways or re-build bridges, or something. Get some kind of CCC program going. When you’re 16 years old with no future ahead of you, you’ve got a lot of free time on your hands. And idle hands are the work of the devil. And I know there will be those who will not want to work.
And lower the minimum wage to where fast food joints can pay less. I know the unions will bitch but it’s time we stood up the unions.
When my family has a memorial service, mild drunkenness and Airing of Grievances may occur - we’re Irish - but there’s never been gunfire.
Or how about parents actually be parents and raise those kids instead of looking to government to do the job for them?

What's also not surprising is the lack of media coverage of a black on black shooting, which this was.
I'd read earlier this morning that between the self-defense shooting of Angry T and the George Zimmerman trial, there were over 9,000 black on black shootings in America.
So a black-hispanic named George Zimmerman (who's more "black" than the current occupant of the White House) shoots a 17 year old gang-banging thug named Trayvon Martin in Self Defense, and the media jumps all over that story proclaiming Zimmerman as a "white hispanic" ..... while same liberal lamestream media IGNORES over 9,000 black on black shootings.
