Here is your answer. When you give something away, when people don't have to do anything but breathe to receive a benefit, the result is waste. When the government does the giving, the waste is even greater because the recipient sees the donor as faceless and the donation unworthy of respect.

The purpose of the bureaucracies that administer these programs is not to "relieve hunger" or "relieve poverty". It is to perpetuate and grow the bureaucracy itself. The best way to do that is to increase the number of recipients, no matter what the "need"? Waste is expected and encouraged, a byproduct of the program itself. The fact that the entire program is a waste and counter productive seems to be lost on everyone.

I know how this ends, do you?

Take any bureaucracy and transfer the purpose to it and you will see their is no way to reduce the bad, except to ELIMINATE the bureaucracy. BATFE, for one, to separate as many people as possible from their Constitutionally enumerated rights. SNAP program, to get as many people as possible to exercise their right to free food using other peoples money/labor. Notice the word right in the last sentence. No one has a right to free food nor the us of other people’s money or labor, but you wouldn’t know that unless you had an understanding of what a right is.
