Mood turns somber for Democrats in 2014 contest for Senate control
The Hill ^ | July 21, 2013

President Obama talked earlier this year of a Democratic takeover of the House, but instead his party is now in danger of losing the Senate. The latest blow to their hopes of keeping the upper chamber came from former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer (D),who opted out of a race to replace retiring Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.)

----

That party seems likely to lose seats in Montana, South Dakota and West Virginia, where it cannot find find strong candidates.

How in the world is Landrieu going to keep her seat in Louisiana?

*************

Landrieu is getting some attention from the LA GOP but will it be enough to defeat her.

http://www.wwl.com/Louisiana-GOP-plans-statewide-tour-to-topple-Mary-/16865672

“Forty-eight percent of the people in our state are registered Democrats,” she says.
“Twenty-four percent are registered Independent. So, the vast majority of people are for
practical politics, compromise, moving our country forward and supporting the middle class.”

“We recognize that we have quite a challenge next year in defeating Senator Landrieu, and it’s
going to take all hands on deck,” says GOP Executive Director Jason Dore.

The state GOP’s ‘Red to the Roots’ 100-city tour will begin in August.

It’s goal, says Dore, is to determine potential supporters and activists, establish precinct
captains and lay the groundwork for 2014.....

U.S. Representative Bill Cassidy of Baton Rouge and political newcomer Rob Mannes
of Madisonville are Landrieu’s two republican challengers so far. Cassidy is considered
by many to be her strongest challenger.

Thanks. Can you imagine a Boehner House and a McConnel Senate?

Truly sad...

It does not help when you incite racial violence within the voters you party supposedly own to get an agenda advanced you really want....the side being treated like punching bags usually look elsewhere especially when they are being labeled white....hmmmm, maybe we should vote like we are white also, and really Hispanic is a new label that used to be white so why not be white.

Both parties are totally stupid when it comes to politics.

That is why the Dems are going to dump Obamacare by the end of January next year.

Bet on it. The ground work is already being laid:

1. Delays in parts of the law.
2. Harry Reid complaining about the funding levels.
3. Continuing lawsuits by religious organizations.
4. AFL-CIO letter.
5. Obama campaigning for it.

Is that worse than Pelosi and Reid controlling the House and Senate?

With a president like McCain, yes.

He would have not opposition, and his own ‘sniff testers’ with their noses in the wrong place to be effective.

It could be a disaster.

Imagine Medicare Part D to the X.

And the IRS will continue giving conservative rectal exams while also releasing past personal tax filings of R’s. ONLY after they have tapped their phones and infiltrated their computers, of course.
Same rules as the presidential election will be brought to the state level.

No. I hope there’s a mutiny in both chambers.

So do I RabidRalph. It’s long overdue in the House. I have no idea what leverage this guy must have over those who keep him in power.

Are you the same RabidRalph I’ve known for years? If so, great to talk to you.

If not, it was nice talking to you anyway.

Wasn’t the GOP going to take the Senate in 2012?

They could have, but shunned the real conservative standard bearers of the party such as Sarah Palin. They even went further than shunning them and actually tried to destroy them in the 'blood sport' of politics.

Please consider the following information concerning possible conservative control of Senate after 2014 elections by both Democratic and Republican conservatives. (Note that this information has been mentioned in related threads.)

I don’t know if the following scenario is possible in the 2014 election cycle, but heads up patriots. If patriots can organize to elect a 2/3 conservative majority in each House of Congress, then Congress will have the constitutional authority, under Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I, to override presidential vetoes. In other words, a Congress controlled by a conservative supermajority will be able to repeal constitutonally indefensible Obamacare without the president’s signature.

Also note that a conservative-controlled Congress will be able to impeach Obama, Biden and activist justices.

But I think that to increase chances of above scenario possibly working that patriots also need to do the following. Patriots need to encourage citizens who voted for Obama, but who are now disgruntled with Obama, to petiiton their incumbent Democratic federal senators to resign in order to make room for new senators who are actually going to uphold their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution.

Finally, note that the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly prohibit the states from prohibiting otherwise qualified voters from voting on the basis of their knowledge of the Constitution. So I think that states should require candidate voters to pass a basic constitutional law test, written or oral, a test which stresses the Founding States’ division of federal and state government powers as the Founders had intended for such powers to be understood. Voters who pass such a test will then be more sensitive to flake federal candidates who make campaign promises based on constituitonally nonexistent federal government powers, such as promises associated with constitutionally indefensible Obamacare.

Yeah and then the RNC and GOPe decided to give us Romney. Might be true, but as I see it, Romney was really the only *good* presidential candidate. I was sorry when they brought down Herman Cain and sorry when they brought down Newt Gingrich because they had fresh ideas and both where proven performers.

Romney had no fresh ideas. He was more George W. Bush (who I liked) when the party needed something different to beat the novelty of Obama.

Now we have saboteurs in the party like McCain, Rubio, and looking like Paul Ryan now too.

I said hi to some guy one day thinking it might be you, and he didn’t seem to make the connection. There may have been a variation in the spelling of the name or something that I missed.

At any rate, nice to talk to you again. Glad you’re still here kicking Leftists where they need to be kicked.

No prob. Now that they’ve got all of the bugs worked out in their voter fraud machine, they will have even more seats in the Senate and take the House, as well.

The republicans are called the “stupid party” for a reason. The only reason they’ve survived this long is the democrats are called the “evil party” for a reason.
