The city's most recent homicide shocked many with it's apparent brutality. Now, police believe they have one of those responsible in custody - a 14-year-old boy has been charged with homicide. Police say the teen shot and killed Ansari Wilson, 21, in a residence on Scott Street Saturday evening.
Tyrell Boyd, 14, of 4918 N. Ninth St. in Philadelphia, has been charged with criminal homicide, felony aggravated assault, carrying a firearm without a license and fleeing apprehension.
Shots rang out on Scott Street at about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, prompting frightened citizens to contact police. The first officers on the scene peered through the window of 1510 Scott St. and found a grisly sight - Wilson lying on the living room floor, bleeding and unresponsive.

Paramedics rushed Wilson to the Williamsport Regional Medical Center for the apparent gunshot wounds in his abdomen. However, doctors were unable to save the injured man. He was pronounced dead at about 6 p.m., according to reports.
Luckily, investigators were able to follow a string of evidence from around and near the crime scene. Inside the home, police uncovered handgun casings and a bullet, records state.
Witnesses also came forward to help authorities. One woman told investigators that she had received a phone call from Boyd shortly after the shooting had occurred, according to reports.
Mayor to address public
In the wake of Saturday's shooting that claimed the life of 21-year-old Ansari Wilson, city Mayor Gabriel J. Campana has announced that he will hold a news conference Wednesday, outside of the 1510 Scott St. residence where Wilson was shot, to discuss his plans for public safety.
Open to the public, the news conference will begin at 5:30 p.m., the approximate time of Wilson's death.
IF YOU GO
WHAT: Mayor's public safety announcement
WHEN: 5:30 p.m. Wednesday
WHERE: Outside 1510 Scott St.
"I just hit Muk," Boyd allegedly told the woman.
In the affidavit, police wrote that the witness understood that by "hit" Boyd apparently meant "shooting," and that "Muk" apparent was a nickname for Wilson.
"He died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen," Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling said Monday shortly after an autopsy was performed. The coroner was unwilling to say how many times Wilson was struck by gunfire, but he said "there was one (bullet wound) that was in the right place to put him down." Other details are being kept confidential as authorities continue their investigation.
Police tracked Boyd to Philadelphia, where he allegedly fled soon after the shooting, records state.
Although only a teenager, Boyd already has a criminal record. His previous convictions for possession with attempt to deliver (drugs) and aggravated assault make it illegal for him to carry a firearm, according to police.
Boyd was arraigned Monday evening before District Judge James H. Sortman. He currently is incarcerated without bail.
A toxicology of Wilson's body and full autopsy report won't be ready for several weeks. In the meantime, his remains have been released to a funeral home in Philadelphia at the request of his family, according to officials.
hoodie hood
I guess they didn’t have any of his baby pictures.
I worked at Robert M Sides in 1982. I stopped a black youth from robbing the store. I also stopped a large biker out of prison from stealing a used guitar. The court sent him back to prison. Williamsport has been a crime area for a while. Williamsport is seems now to be a place for many home and business fires.
This is just the sort of vermin that the black community wants the system to go easy on, because white folks just don’t understand how hard is is to be a “child of color.”
Did he have Skittles i his pocket? Oh, the poor CHILD! /s
If Obama had a son....
To be integrated into a community near you.....
Obama 34 years ago?
In a hoodie, too?!
In Black America, self defense is when you shoot somebody for dissin you.
Another son...
The same way Washington DC vermin ruined Prince Georges , and Charles Counties in Maryland.
Well then it's okay! Released prisoner without a stain on his character!
Note that Boyd’s age was initially incorrectly reported as being 14. They later corrected the article to show Boyd’s correct age as 14. Little consolation to the murder victim, however.
Yeah, I noticed that. Not a good job by the local paper to get something like that wrong on one of their bigger stories of the year. He certainly looks older than 14.
I guess WNEP reported the age correctly.
Maybe the admin could correct the headline?
Sharpton! Jessie! call for you on the red phone/
