As I’m approaching the beginning of my fifth decade of life, I find myself becoming more and more cynical about the federal government. Or, perhaps I am becoming more and more realistic about it. I just cannot shake the feeling that the REAL reasons behind “anti terror measures” are to protect the power elite from the common, every day citizens of our once-great country.

It’s not going to end pretty, that’s for sure. Or perhaps “we” (Freepers excluded, of course) have become slowly boiled frogs and “we” don’t really care any longer.

Nothing wrong with being cynical, and realistic. You can realistically take the facts for what they are (as detailed in this paper), and cynically assume the worst.

You know, I read that most of the foiled attacks were basically entrapment where homeland security provided the radicalization and ultimately the gear (i.e. fake bomb). Not all, but most.

Because that's EXACTLY what their efforts are for. If you accept that, nearly 100% of what the legislators do makes perfect sense. Nearly EVERY politician is in there merely to get what they can before the wheels fall off. They could give two rats asses about the citizenry, particularly because close to the majority of voters will keep sending their worthless dog excrement eating asses back to office.

The only seriously impactful things we can do is pay off debt and vote for ANYONE who isn't an incumbant/career politico...
