Star witness Stephen "The Rifleman" Flemmi has spent hours in lurid description of how he and his old partner, James "Whitey" Bulger, tortured victims, yanked out teeth with dental tools and buried bodies in secret graves.
But Flemmi stammered and hesitated Monday. Bulger's lawyers were asking the questions on cross-examination and they opened with the January 1985 murder of 26-year old Deborah Hussey a stepdaughter Flemmi is accused of having sexually abused.

How dare they impugn Flemmi’s character!
Maybe they’ll bring in Woody Allen as a character witness.
And Bulger was protected by his democratic brother who was president of the Mssachusetts senate back in the day....
Exactly
If you're from the Gay State,or are familiar with it,you've heard the old saying "Whitey did it with a club,Billy did it with a gavel".My aunt,a proud daughter of Southie,*worshiped* Billy. For years before she died I tried to convince her that he was a punk but never succeeded.
a prosecution witness, Stephen rakes, was found dead in the upscale town of Lincoln. no apparent wounds were found, and the police initially called it a suicide.
suicides have been getting common here in the highly civilized state of Massachusetts. lately, if some official gets caught with his hand in the till and speculation runs rampant that he will name names, he is usually found in some cottage with the doors locked from the inside (I saw that trick on columbo once). we just had that happen to a sheriff. of course, that didn’t get as much play in the media as the 85 year old guy who drove thru a drugstore window. (around here, that is our preferred method of distraction).
mr rakes may have been set to give testimony on the boston fbi.
I’m from Mass. I know about these people. I remember how they ran Boston like it was a their own kingdom.
The hero worship by some people in that state is beyond belief. I grew up in MA and the mind-set of many people just defies understanding.
What they are is evil. Calling them psychopathic implies that they have no control over their behavior.
There are times when a pretty good case can be made for summary execution.
Psychopaths have control over their behavior.
The Irish Mafia?
I haven’t heard much about Affleck and Daman’s movie about Sonny. I doubt they’re waiting for the outcome of the trial. I got a feeling they were told to knock it off.
Which is the only reason that Teddy Kennedy kept getting re-elected.
Don’t forget the Wiener-Man. Man of the hour.
