CNN topper Jeff Zuckers plans for the network might be summed up by the following: Everything needs to change, but much of it is going to remain the same.
In a brief but wide-ranging interview at a summit held by Fortune magazine Tuesday, the CNN Worldwide president indicated that the cable-news network would put much of its near-term focus on both mobile assets as well as its primetime television lineup. At the same time, the executive said he was mindful of the revenue generated by CNNs TV operations and suggested the network would strive for objectivity in its news presentation, so long as doing so wasnt dull.

blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. I’ll believe it when I see it. Until then, I will continue to NOT watch CNN. In fact, even if they get conservatives on their shows, I still most likely won’t watch CNN. They have absolutely nothing that I’d be interested in seeing even if they had some conservative talking head blathering about it or adding his or her two cents. Quite frankly, I’m tired of the traditional news / political commentary format.
CNN, has actually done a better job than Fox at times of simple “reporting” on issues. Obviously, objectivity is still an issue for every news network.
IMO, “objectivity” is going to involve hiring a whole lot of people from nontraditional sources and other walks of life and making them reporters.
Journalism schools have been steeping their students in politically correct liberal groupthink for decades. Unless you hire outside that box there will be no changing it.
Only when “reporting” doesn’t come with qualifiers, such as “liberal”, or “conservative”, will there be any hope of objectivity.
For breaking news, they tend to be there before Fox, which often sticks with taped programs.
Maybe they can hire Keith Olberman to give the conservative viewpoint....
Every week, for years, CNN seems to have some special on the topic of “race.” That’s all I ever see when I flip by the network. And when such specials are not even on, there will be some news-anchor or lib guest commenting that “we, as a nation, need a conversation about race.” Just like the topic has never, ever been raised, in modern history. It’s like an obsession with CNN. An endless drumbeat. And each time it comes across like an obnoxious, elitist lecturer talking down to viewers like little children. Unpalatable beyond words.
I’d actually resorted to tuning in a little to CNN in the past two years, having grown rather disgusted at how FoxNews had increasingly become more of an obvious and heavy-handed mouthpiece for Rove and the GOP-establishment, following the 2010 mid-terms. But CNN is just beyond pathetic. Just as unwatchable as the MSNBC clown-train, in its own peculiar way.
When is BOR supposed to jump the shark to CNN?

Any particular reason you decided not to post this thread using the original headline?
Whenever I am at any airport, they have this on at the terminals so it’s hard to avoid these pukes. More reason to carry your laptop and watch movies.
“Maybe they can hire Keith Olberman to give the conservative viewpoint....”
I thought Olberman was their conservative viewpoint, he was too conservative, that’s why they fired him. /s
I guess one reason the CNN boss is admitting 'bias' is how CNN is getting clobbered by FoxNews
But there is the case of two CNN reporters being in the same parking lot reporting on a story like one was in a different location.
That, to me, is fraud.
I’m just surprised that there is any object to what they do.
So bias in its news presentation is entertaining. Pathetic.
