NEW YORK (PIX11) Ever hate the onrushing crowd of straphangers that wont let you off without a good jostling on the 7 train platform at Grand Central?
Well, for some healthy perspective, just watch the man in the white shirt in this commute footage from Beijing, China, who tries and FAILS to get off the train. Thats right, the flood of riders pushes the struggling man right back from whence he came, like a human river sweeping him off his feet.
The video was taken during the morning commute on July 18th, according to the YouTube description, at the Xierqi subway station.
According to the blog Beijingcream.com, the subway station has built in crowd control features that include narrow staircases and gates regulate the flow of people. The sheer mass of humanity clearly overcomes all those features. The blog describes the video, saying:
China is explained for you in this one video. Want to know why this country is the way it is? People. Many of them. Why is the pollution so bad? Too many people. Why are people pushy? Too many people. Why is there no soft power? The government censors too much shit and suppresses expression because theyre afraid of the people the people of which there are too goddamn many.

Hong Kong is almost that bad. Tokyo is as bad or worse
100 million people DWA (driving while Asian), that’s indeed scary.
I’ve been that man except that I’m much bigger than the other passengers so just pushed real hard and made it through.
Could this be anymore disgusting?
Jamming them in like two legged cattle...What a nasty place...
The same is true whether driving or taking the train. Avoid rush hour if at all possible.
In our “civilized” country, that situation would lead to bloodshed on a daily basis.
This is unnatural, unhealthy.
Contrast it with this video of People trying to get on a train in Japan. (note the name of the video: ""All hell breaks loose when a train is 20 minutes late" which I find to be almost a humorous contrast.
Japan has a lot of faults, no doubt about it. But you can see a fundamental difference in behavior between the Japanese and Chinese in getting OFF the train.
The Japanese ALL stand by (as they should) and let people get OFF. When they have to get ON, they push like hell to pack them in.
When the doors open on the Chinese train, there is no social "rule" that people adhere to that compels people to allow people getting off the train by waiting and standing aside. Like a bunch of animals in the jungle, it is every man for himself, pushing to get in, and to hell with the people getting off.
This does, I think, reveal a national character in the Japanese that explains why the Japanese, even 68 years after a devastating defeat in a war, can field a far smaller military that would still likely prevail over a far larger Chinese military if it ever came to that. (and also why some people in Asia still fear a militarized Japan)
Granted, the Japanese are a far more homogenous society than China is, but I think what you see in these two videos shows a profound, basic difference between the two cultures, and not to China's advantage.
Hey. Why did you have to post a picture of Detroit Mass Transit? Too early in the day for that...
Too many people so the socialist agenda of reducing the earths population by 75%, forced sterilization, forced abortion must be promoted.
You don’t see it in Seoul either. Lots of pushing and no concept of personal space, but you wont see this.
When I lived in Japan in the Sixties, I was fascinated by the whole train thing. They way they had people whose actual job it was to “push” people onto the train...I had never seen train commuters before, and to watch people willingly allow themselves to be purposefully shoved and forced onto a train just blew my mind.
Everyday I see we are not as evolved as we think and will resort to her mentality.
LOL! This video is hilarious. That one guy in the white shirt doesn't appear to be a small person by any stretch. The throng of people is just too much.
Do you really think that if every Chinaman was armed, they'd actually rebel against the Communists? I challenge that the Chinese have been brainwashed for so long that they'd eschew the use of a weapon. Likewise, I believe the time for effective rebellion in America is drawing to a close. There are too many indoctrinated liberals willing to die for their government while the number of educated, Constitution-supporting Americans is dwindling.
