Terry McAuliffe's Green Nightmare (WSJ)
Wall Street Journal ^ | July 23, 2013 | By Stephen Moore

Virginia attorney general and GOP gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli is back on the attack in a tight race with momentum swinging back and forth seemingly every week.

Of late Mr. Cuccinelli has been trying to focus attention on the crony capitalism misadventures of his Democratic opponent, Terry McAuliffe. Mr. McAuliffe, a major fundraiser and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is also founder of GreenTech Automotive. The electric car company was suppose to have produced some 400,000 vehicles by now, along with 10,000 new jobs, mostly in Virginia.

To date, however, GreenTech has produce around 100 cars and has only 100 employees, and most of them are based in Mississippi. The company has some 10 workers in Virginia. Even if things start to go right for the embattled firm, its plant only has the capacity to produce about 30,000 vehicles, or one-tenth the number promised. . .

IIRC from Iaccoca's book, the Ford pumped out on the order of 400,000+ Mustangs alone, the first 12 months of production.

Not only could Ford make them, people wanted the Mustang.

Good idea, have the government buy all these cars and give them for Congressional use. Then stop paying for air travel. I really do not see what is so hard about driving to work in the morning like all the other Americans out there have to do.

Congress should be run completely on wind power that they have paid billions for. A windless day could save Millions in taxes.

Back in 1972, a long seated democrat governor came to my university to campaign all of us first time voters (18 year old vote was recently instituted then).

He asked for questions from the audience. I still remember mine (which is applicable to nearly every major demo running for office today):

“Mr. Governor, why every time your name in in the press is some scandal attached to it?”

He quickly moved on to a more friendly student for a softball question and did not answer me.
